"Congress must pass funding for the Department of Homeland Security by Friday, March 22, or face a partial government shutdown.

While recent news reports indicate that Congressional Leaders and the White House have a spending deal in place, 43 members in the House of Representatives have signed a Dear Colleague letter, led by Reps. Bob Good (R-VA) and Chip Roy (R-TX), demanding that any DHS spending bill include provisions that would end the border crisis, including:

Ending catch-and-release;
Restarting border wall construction;
Closing asylum loopholes;
Defunding sanctuary cities and NGOs facilitating the border crisis; and
Ending the Biden Administration's abuse of parole.

You mean trumps border crisis, there is a widely supported effective immigration bill that will easily pass both houses and the president will sign. The Cheeto Faced Shitgibbon directed the house speaker to block the vote. Place the blame where it is deserved… on trump.

It is a bad bill that should never be enacted.

What specifically is bad about it? And why do you think it won’t improve the situation?

The Senate’s immigration bill gives the executive branch emergency authority to bar most migrants from seeking asylum if unauthorized immigration at the border reaches an average of 5,000 encounters a day during seven consecutive days.

Biden's executive orders terminating "remain in Mexico", "catch and release", and his abuse of "immigration parole authority" and support for sanctuary cities suggests to me that even if he had the emergency authority to bar migrants, he would avoid using it. His policies advance his partisan goals of increasing Democratic congressional seats since migrants predominantly vote Democratic.
