The crime rate in the US is incredibly low and since the last official tally at the end of 2022 murder rates have dropped 13%, violent crime has fallen off by 6% and property crimes down by 4%. If you're referring to the personal attitudes of individuals I would agree that there is no way we can measure that. But I'm not. I'm referring to policy and to specific leaders.

I've been doing this for the last 40 years and I am utterly convinced that policies pushed by the left are far more centered on a concern for people than the policies pushed by the right.

This is why it's always the left that steps in to defend others... from LGBT people to immigrants, while it's always that right that tries to demonize them. "LGBT people are pedophiles", "immigrants are rapists and murderers".

It's the left that continues to fight for consumer advocacy and workers rights. Every time there is a conflict of interest between commercial advantages and human rights it is ALWAYS the left that stands up for the later. It's come to the point where it's downright predictable.

I'm not saying that no one on the right cares... I'm saying that their elected politicians (whether they realize it or not) are almost always willing to screw people for the sake of commercial advantage and in *some* cases to satisfy the demands of bigotry.
