There is plenty of room to cut the the cost of administering benefit programs without cutting benefits. You avoid mentioning Biden's record of suggestions to cut SS.

I wouldn't care if he did. Don't care if he doesn't. I don't use either. You don't have to if you're smart.

Democrats just don't get it. Social Security and Medicare are in big trouble. It's simple math. Less people putting in, more people taking out. Yet Democrats would rather use them as talking points then buckling down and coming up with a way to salvage these programs. Every time anyone even mentions looking for solutions they start with their scare tactics.

I have paid for Medicare for 5 years now and never used it . I am in the V A system and very happy with it . Social security is something I paid into mostly by myself with no employer contributions . I'm just getting my money back . My advice to any body is Pay your home off-- Don't take every credit card you are offered . Pack a lunch instead of going out .

Democrats are immune from common sense. Talking to them about it causes them to fall on the floor and foam at the mouth.

My Dads advice on social security is this:
The government can't take care of there own money-why do want them to take care of yours?
I think it's a good point.
When Trump was president, he proposed cutting Social Security in every budget he submitted. Why do you expect anything different from Trump?

You can be smart as hell with household budgets these days and still get caught in the swirling water that is flushing down the toilet of the economy.
You don't need either. Good for you. I Will need them. I paid all my life into it. For what? So, the government can use it all for shit projects?
I want a damn refund if I can't use it

It is something I paid into for 55 years! It is not an entitlement! They need to stop robbing that money by giving to people that haven’t earned it! Like illegals with stolen ids!!

Good points. I'm not trying to force you to give up what's yours.

I think that the only way to save SS & Medicare is to remove the income cap for the tax. Millionaires & billionaires can forego that extra mansion for a good cause and congress can forego those pork projects.

I understand that. I also am very happy for people that don't need them nor anytime in the future. I don't want to have to use them either.
I just hate the "if you're smart" phrases when it comes to that. I take my lunch, I've saved when possible, I've paid off a home, I, unfortunately, have to use a couple of credit cards and consider myself and my old hippie dude pretty intelligent. Everything was being done right. I'm 60 and care alot about what's happening now about that.
Because, heaven forbid, if something happens to my hippie dude before me, I'll need it
