From the comments on X on both sides, a lot of people didn't understand that wasn't the case.

As much as MAGAts want to believe the border bill worked on for months before the text was released and supposed to be voted on in the Senate (before DJ started whispering in the ears of certain Senators), it was the most bipartisan border bill in years and the only one that should have had a chance of passing. Even Senator Langford was nodding when Joe talked about it.

At this point, DJ owns the border. He and those who are so fearful of being blacklisted by him that they will do whatever he wants rather than what benefits this country.
I believe a LOT of people made the same assumption... (show quote)

Who opened the border? Joe. It was secure when he got it.

Now why should we spend 3 times the amount on other countrys than we do on ourself?

We've been over this again and again.
Title 42 was DJs out. But it ended when the greatest risk from the pandemic did.

Don't matter. Biden had a secure border, opened it up, and then wants to dish out 3 times more money for other countrys than our own.

Just want to point out what Jordan Klepper said to Jen Psaki about this... She was suggesting what many people are thinking, that Katie Britt failed in some way. But this perspective is based on the idea that the truth matters.

As bizarre and baseless as the response was, the point was to bolster the MAGA narrative, which was never based on facts or policy to begin with.

For this to make any sense, you have to understand that the MAGA narrative is in fact a confidence game, initiated by a career conman, Donald Trump. The point of a confidence game is to find a mark (someone believed to be easy to influence) and convince them to buy something based on misinformation. The MAGA movement is arguably the largest confidence game in U.S. history, where the mark is comprised of about 30% of the American electorate.

The influence on these people have already captured their hearts and souls, so there is really no need to change any minds but the misinformation presented by Katie Britt does serve to keep the narrative alive and fresh which is important to the MAGA movement because they need to keep that 30% in a state of outrage heading into the election.

As Jordan Klepper suggested... "Mission accomplished".

Ms Britt opened her rebuttal with a horrific tale about a cartel taking a 12 year old and turning her into a sex slave. The only problem was this was not done in Biden's administration, but in Bush's, and not in the USA. She is an adult now living in Mexico.

Biden is a Communist operative, bought and sold by China.
At least with Russia we had an understanding. It’s called MAD (mutual assured destruction). China on the other hand has never had the nuclear capability to make a significant threat against the United States. So China went to the back door method of destroying the United States, using bribes and deception, confusion and attacks on our society, destroying the morals that created our country.
Biden and the Democrat Party are pawns of the powers that drive China and their long term policies, world domination, or to put it another way, a One World Order.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing that a blithering buffoon like DJ who isn't currently holding ANY office and is in fact on trial for multiple crimes can actually get the Republicans to reject the bill that they themselves authored. Of course everyone knows that he did that to keep the problem alive going into the election.

Just another example of how Republicans really don't care about fixing anything and just want to leverage problems for political advantage. Sadly, it's also proving that the Republican party is held hostage by a battery of really stupid voters because you know those congressmen aren't scared of Trump... they're scared of the loosing the votes cast by morons in their districts.

As to your first paragraph, fair enough. It still does not equate what she said with lying, as she has been accused of doing.

As to your second paragraph, that is another inference, speculation, assumption, that Trump is giving instructions to Senators and blackmailing them. Since you have no evidence, and are guessing to meet your narrative, then by your own rules, as applied to Mrs. Britt, YOU ARE A LIAR, are you not?

As to the bill itself, it is only partially the lack of enough gumption to do the job right that is holding it up. As you know, and as is typical of the Democrats, it is loaded with pork and other Democrat pet projects, and THAT is what is sinking it. And the more time that passes gives the GOP more time to uncover hidden 'surprises' put into the bill. You should consider the fact that few if any Congress Critters even read the bills. That is the job willingly handed down to partisan staffers after it is written by special interests.

Okay. Let's pretend what you say is true about the Republican response.
How is Biden's SOTU speech, and the abject distortions and lies he told, in ANY way different from the response?

Amazing the thing that "everybody knows". I think you are describing the Democrat party.
Republicans are divided into semi-conservatives, with a few real ones thrown in, establishment, country club Rinos, and a very few who are honestly just trying to help the American people. The Rinos colaboratted with the Democrats to write the bill. The rest of them oppose it because of what is in it.

Katie Britt should have, and easily could have, searched out a victim of Human Trafficking under Biden's watch,

to demonstrate the tragedy and horrors of Human Trafficking.

By pouncing upon the opening Katie left for, for the Left, you infer that no such abominations occurred

on Biden's watch. You have thus taken a totally untenable position.

Human Trafficking is an abomination, and it is thriving each and every day, on Biden's Watch

Katie Britt's response was hilarious. Late night shows couldn't stop laughing about it. Her whispery-dramatic presentation was soooo over the top. People are saying she came off looking like a Stepford wife, which only enforces the image the Republicans already have as a theocratic cult that wants women to stay barefoot in the kitchen.

In the days following, Katie appeared in an interview to defend herself and she pointed out that she knew that the sex trafficking ordeal that she was describing happened when Bush was in office. She even pointed out that in her response she actually stated that she had spoken with a woman who was trafficked at the age of 12. So... do the math.

But this only enforces what opponents are saying about the MAGA movement. Katie admitted that she KNEW it didn't happen during the Biden administration but she presented the story as a prelude to her attack on Biden's policies in a way that implies this horrible thing happened to this 12 year old girl in Mexico is BECAUSE of Biden's policies.

And we all know that typical MAGA people react to emotional outrage without paying any attention to the details.

So, you're okay with the "sex trafficking ordeal" going on NOW under bribum...same thing!!! IGNORANT 🤡
