IRS Data: Middle Class Americans Saw Significant Tax Reduction from Trump Tax Cuts

As the data notes, Americans with incomes between $50,000 and $100,000 saw a substantial decline in their tax liability:
* Americans with adjusted gross income (AGI) between $50,000 and $74,999 saw a 15.2 percent reduction in average tax liabilities between 2017 and 2019.
* Americans with AGI of between $75,000 and $99,999 saw a 15.6 percent reduction in average federal tax liability between 2017 and 2019.
Middle-class Americans in key states were delivered significant tax cuts:
* Floridians with AGI between $50,000 and $74,999 saw a 19.6% reduction. Floridians with AGI between $75,000 and $99,999 saw a 17.2% reduction.
* New Yorkers with AGI between $50,000 and $74,999 saw a 18.9% reduction. New Yorkers with AGI between $75,000 and $99,999 saw a 12.4% reduction.
* Californians with AGI between $50,000 and $74,999 saw a 18.4% reduction. Californians with AGI between $75,000 and $99,999 saw a 14% reduction.
*
The TCJA also caused millions of Americans to see an increased child tax credit, and millions more qualified for this tax cut for the first time. The TCJA expanded the child tax credit from $1,000 to $2,000 and raised the income thresholds so millions of families could take the credit.

It's the same ole lies that they want to listen to and that he didn't do anything doesn't matter...as long as he's in office they are in Nirvana and they can dream that their white privilege will remain a little longer.

Yet you are unwilling to give up the unmitigated lie that his tax bill did not provide benefit to anyone but the rich when the IRS has refuted that lie.

You do know that it's possible to check everything don't you? This is the Trump tax cut by bracket: The top individual tax rate dropped from 39.6% to 37% under the terms of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (single filers making $578,126 and over), the 33% bracket fell to 32% ($182,101-$231,250), the 28% bracket to 24% ($95,376-$182,100), the 25% bracket to 22% ($44,726-$95,375) and the 15% bracket to 12% ($11,001-$44,725). Oh, and even if you throw in the increase for the standard deduction and doubling the child tax credit that still won't come out to 15%

Now, no matter where you think the middle class falls no nowhere was there a 15% cut unless you are a corporation or a billionaire then, yes, they saw a decline of 15% or more in their liabilities. Now I notice that you parsed it by saying 'tax liabilities' but not all people in the middle-class share the same liabilities and even if they were able to do a Donald Trump and max out all your liabilities I would be shocked to see a 15% decline.

And here's something you conservatives need to understand...say you earned 75K a year and you got a 15% decline in your tax liabilities that would mean you saw an increase in your net income of 216 dollars a week. Don't you think people in the middle class, other than you MAGA cons, would remember an increase that high? I don't care where you fell on the middle-income scale you would notice an increase that high. That should have told you that the article you were reading was bullshit...but it didn't register did it! I wonder why?

I think you are living in Conservative Lala land. So long as you have Trump the strongman in power little hearts will come out of your chest and your eyes will flutter at the very mention of his name. 'Open up little bird, here come some more lies I'm sure you're going to love: Oil independence, Trump's Nationalism isn't that kind of Nationalism, Liberals are the fascists even though fascism is part of your conservative ideology, Mexico really is going to pay for the wall--this time', and on and on...you cons will believe each and every one...

Show the link because with the reduction in the brackets, the increase in the standard deduction, and child care there was nowhere near a 15% plus reduction you are citing. There isn't a person out there who wouldn't have noticed an increase of 200 plus every week. In 2018 that would have been a lot of lattes so you wouldn't have to scrap your car seats to buy just one. I think your tax cut is lost in translation...or at least you didn't give it very much thought when you posted it.
