UN shelters, you live in an alternate reality.

Of course they condemn indiscriminate killing, who would not. It's not indiscriminate killing, it's called collateral damage and deaths. All sides in modern war have killed "innocents" caught up in the fighting, that's the way it goes.
At least 19 Palestinians who were sheltering in a UN-run school in Gaza have been killed after it was shelled on Wednesday.
More than 90 people were injured. You just presented a fine example of collateral death and damage. Hamas was firing rockets from right beside the school and the school got hit when they took out the rocket launchers. One does what is necessary to protect ones country and its citizens, and that is what Israel is doing. I personally would shell Gaza 24/7 until nothing was standing and most everyone was dead and then ask them if they still wanted to play war. If they still want to play I would push them into the sea.

Most had taken shelter after being told by the Israeli army to move from their homes to somewhere safer. Shit happens!

The UN has accused Israel of attacking the school, despite being told several times that it was housing civilians. From what I read Israel was shelling Hamas rocket launchers placed in an area next to the school, the school was not the target even thought it did get hit.

United Nation relief and works agency (UNRWA) spokesperson Christopher Robert Gunness said Israeli forces had broken international law. I don't believe anything the UN has to say.

“We have visited the site and gathered evidence. We have analysed fragments, examined craters and other damage. Our initial assessment is that it was Israeli artillery that hit our school in which 3,300 people had sought refuge. We believe there were at least three impacts. We condemn in the strongest possible terms the serious violation of international law by Israeli forces”. Blah, blah, blah...

Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, spokesperson for the Israeli Defence Force said the army had fired in response to militants: “In the morning there was mortar fired right from next to the school, there was an exchange of fire with our forces. We are currently reviewing the results of that and looking into other options as well. Clearly it’s a tragedy, but the IDF does not intentionally target UN premises.”

More than 1,200 Palestinians, most of them civillians, have been killed in the last three weeks. Their own fault for allowing Hamas to operate in Gaza. Fifty-three Israeli soldiers have been killed as well as three civilians War is evil and people die, its been going on since the beginning of time and it will continue on until the end of time. Your kind want to deny Israel the right to defend herself. Why? I think you need to move to Gaza and complain from there, it seems like a good idea to me.
Of course they condemn indiscriminate killing, who... (show quote)

They were given advanced warning. Hamas moved their artillery into the UN 'shelters', defying the Israeli's to fire into it. The blame lies entirely on Hamas.

It helps to know history. The Palestinian people in Gaza are living in a concentration camp. When he UN with US backing declared Israel a state in 1948 the Palestinian people were the majority people in Palestine Yet because of the holocaust European refugees were flooding through the British blockade and into the area. some 900,000 Palestinians fled into refugee camps in Gaza strip, Lebanon and Jordan and three surrounding Arab Countries attacked but with US supplied arms they were rebuffed the last time was the Yom Kipper war of 1973 since then Gaza has been walled in and the Israeli's have peppered the West Bank with hundreds of settlements slowly squeezing the Palestinians out. Yitzhak Rabin was Prime minister of Israel from 1992 to 1995 he was a liberal Jew that was on track to see that a Palestinian state be created. He had a leading roll in the Oslo Accords which created the Palestinian National Authority and granted it partial control over the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Rabin won a Nobel Peace prize for his actions but a radical right wing Orthodox Jew assassinated him in November 1995. In 1996 the Right wing authoritarian Benjamin Netanyahu became Prime Minister and by 2000 the accords had collapsed under Netanyahu's leadership. His idea is It's going to be my f***ing way or the f***ing highway, Typical wing nut. In the mean time the people of Gaza have been walled in like a concentration camp in Gaza, the most densely populated place in the world

In 1832 the region was conquered by Muhammad Ali's Egypt, but in 1840 Britain intervened and returned control of the Levant to the Ottomans in return for further capitulations.[citation needed] The turbulent period of Egyptian rule experienced two major revolts (the 1834 Arab Peasants revolt and 1838 Druze revolt) and a significant demographic change in coastal areas, populated by Egyptian Arab peasants and former soldiers of Ali. The end of the 19th century saw the beginning of Zionist immigration and the revival of the Hebrew language. Increasing Jewish immigration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries added considerably to the Jewish communities in Jerusalem, Safed, Tiberias and Jaffa.[4]

During World War I the British government issued the pro-Zionist Balfour Declaration of 1917. The British captured Jerusalem a month later. The League of Nations formally awarded Britain a mandate over Palestine in 1922. The land west of the Jordan River was under direct British administration until 1948, while the land east of the Jordan was a semi-autonomous region known as Transjordan, under the rule of the Hashemite family from the Hijaz, and gained independence in 1946. The 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine was a nationalist uprising by Palestinian Arabs against British colonial rule and mass Jewish immigration. It was brutally suppressed.

After the Nazi Holocaust pressure grew for the international recognition of a Jewish state in Palestine. In 1947 the British Government announced its intention to terminate the Mandate. The United Nations General Assembly voted to partition Palestine into independent Arab and Jewish states, with a special international regime for Jerusalem. The Arabs rejected the partition of Palestine, but the Jews declared the independence of the State of Israel in May 1948. During the 1948 Palestine War, Israel overran far more territory than was proposed by the Partition Plan; Jordan captured the region today known as the West Bank, while in the Gaza Strip the All-Palestine Government was announced in September 1948. In what is known as the Nakba, or "Catastrophe", hundreds of Palestinian villages and over 70,000 Palestinian homes were destroyed.[5] 700,000 Palestinians fled or were driven from their native land by the Israelis. The Palestinian refugees were unable to return following the Lausanne Conference, 1949.[citation needed] During and after the 1948 war, a wave of Jewish refugees from Arab countries arrived in Palestine, further exacerbating the situation for Palestinian Arabs. The question of the right to return of the refugeees and their descendants remains a source of dispute.[6] The All-Palestinian Government was later moved from Gaza to Cairo and eventually dissolved in 1959 by Egyptian President Nasser. Gaza was taken into Egyptian military administration.

The Palestinian national movement gradually regrouped in the West Bank and Gaza, and in refugee camps in neighbouring Arab states. The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) emerged as its leading umbrella group. During the Six Day War in June 1967, Israel seized East Jerusalem and the West Bank from Jordan and Gaza from Egypt. Despite international objections and UN resolutions, Israel began a policy of establishing illegal Israeli settlements in the Israeli-occupied territories.[7] The PLO under Yasser Arafat gradually won international recognition as the representative of the Palestinian people. From 1987 to 1993, the First Palestinian Intifada against Israel took place, ending with the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords. These accords established a Palestinian National Authority (PNA - also referred to as the Palestinian Authority, or PA) as an interim body to run parts of Gaza and the West Bank (but not East Jerusalem) pending an agreed solution to the conflict.

During the Second Intifada (2000-2005), Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip but began building the West Bank barrier. In 2006, Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections and took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007, triggering the Israeli and Egyptian Blockade of the Gaza Strip (2007-the present). In 2008-09 and again in 2014, Israel cited the right to defend itself from Hamas rockets in its attacks on the Gaza Strip, which mainly fell on Palestinian civilians.[8][9]

In October 2011, UNESCO admitted the "State of Palestine" as a member in October. In November 2012, the State of Palestine was upgraded in the UN to non-member observer state status, a move that allows it to take part in General Assembly debates and improves its chances of joining other UN agencies.

One thing to remember when you think, or hear the idea that it is Hamas and their followers who are receiving the blunt of the damage in this war.

Put simply; it is not the desire of Hamas to spare the Israelis less damage than they receive. They try every day by launching their rockets onto the Israel cities hoping to kill and maim as many Jews and their children as they can.

However;as is shown, Israel is protecting it's own citizens quite nicely. Hamas quite the opposite, while inviting even more destruction on their own citizens.

The Hamas attitude reminds me of the attitude of many Americans who voted for Obama and would do so yet again. Not smart, not smart at all.
