Lots of Christians turn away from Christ and choose atheism nowadays. It's easier - especially since sin has now become fashionable, acceptable and tolerable - and it's a hell of a lot more fun. Pun intended.

Here's a Truth we can all sink our choppers into: "The ENTIRE meaning and purpose of life is to attain heaven." Everything else pales in comparison. This sole purpose of life very much includes our forgiven sins. If we weren't sinners Christ would be worthless to us.

Those who turn to atheism reject anyone ever having authority over their behavior. They use their free will now as if someday they won't have to answer for it. Better to answer for it everyday.

I believe there are some among us who know they are sinners, and keep on with the sinning saying to themselves they will be sorry for it later.....only later never comes for some of them. Either because they forgot about it, or they died too suddenly to have the time to repent.
