There should be some real concern in Republican Party circles. Donald Trump has always been one for gaffes, confusion, unproven assertions, and outright lies. But lately he seems to have taken it all to a brand-new level.

He has constantly bragged about making the US an oil-exporting country during his administration and vows to “drill, baby drill” if re-elected. What he doesn’t seem to realize is that we have exported more oil than we’ve imported for the past 22 months straight. And then speaking on the economy and the continuing low unemployment under Biden - under 4% month after month after month - he comes up with this gem:

“We had the best unemployment rates ever. And they were real unemployment, not like you have today where nobody’s working and they consider it to be. It’s a whole different thing. Too complicated to explain, but it’s a whole different thing. You don’t have to know about it.”

Actually Donald, yes, yes, we do have to know about it. If it’s too complicated for you to explain, then perhaps you shouldn’t have brought it up - or maybe you should just hand the keys over to someone who knows how to drive? But this week his main issues (lies, confusion, etc.) seem to be focused on one person - and no, it is not Joe Biden.

Trump raised a few eyebrows when he blamed Jan 6 on Mikki Haley, telling the wicked tale of how she refused his offer of 10,000 troops that day. Two things wrong with this: There is no evidence he ever offered any troops to guard the Capitol. And the other - of course - is that he confused the 52-year-old former UN Ambassador and member of his own administration with the 84-year-old Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House. I mean, sure. They both have dark hair, Donald. And they are both shorter than you. And just women, so to you they’re just interchangeable, right? Oh, but it doesn’t end there.

After the New Hampshire primary votes were counted, Trump won by a fairly meager 11 points. Instead of just gracefully thanking the voters, his own staff and volunteers, and moving on, he seemed outraged that Haley announced her continued candidacy. In what has to be the shiniest example in the history of the world of one man’s lack of self-awareness, Trump went on a rant about people refusing to accept that they lost an election. He thought that Haley should have just bowed out, acknowledged him as the winner, and ridden away into the sunset. For those keeping score at home, it has now been over three years and two months since Donald Trump had his rump handed to him by Joe Biden in the 2020 election. He still hasn’t conceded and definitively hasn’t ridden away.

Did he say it or not? Probably. I would bet he did. He made a similar statement to Hannity during his one day dictator interview about how the Biden administration’s economy was running on the fumes of his accomplishments. He does have a good opinion of himself.

I like to first mention the infrastructure, needed and ignored for decades.. now getting done by joe.. the Duluth to Superior bridge over the duluth harmor is one local and very nice project long considered and now getting done.. the Jobs are booming , unemployment at record lows, the stock market at record high.. Internet service at last being brought to rural areas in America.. roads also being upgraded per the bill..

disappointments , sure a few... the record drilling for oil would be good to have avoided that nasty chore..

A bit more action , putting away the militia shelling shipping via the straits by the red sea..

I also am in favor of covert action to take out the various melitas etc in the mid east on other locations that will not accept shutdown nor respond to any nations demand for peace. But that is not the American way and after 200 years the belief is not to change the policy...

But in total things are going well and short of a major upgrade in the wars, thing will become better in due course.

I am sure that in a little time I will think of things should have mentioned but this is it for the moment..
