Albert, when a person asked Jesus a spiritual question He didn't mock,He taught. Can you answer her question without malice?

On the mount of olives Jesus showed us how to pray. He started out with My Father who art in heaven, and from then on every request was put before God our Father, NEVER before anyone else. If you seek to intimately know God you must address God period. And He does look at our hearts, it's like asking someone else what you should be asking the person the question was directed to. Does that help?

When I was a Catholic as a child I always wondered why not just go directly to God rather than something else. Got in trouble for that.

One sister of mine has some 'radical' religious beliefs, at least in my opinion. She believes since Catholics worship saints, then the 5th Commandment prevails... 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me' (saints) ....so thusly Catholics will never get into Heaven. Just wondering if that's a common belief or not. Please, no snark... I am only asking a question. Thank you.

While i don't know much about catholic religion i would say they don't worship Mary. Prayer is the same as talking-to someone so in other words they talkto God/saints.
Thou shalt have no other gods before Me can be complex and in some mennonite/ amish churches it(gods) would be whatever is held above God.
So if God is still worshipped as the highest and the saints as should we say secondary i believe it's ok.
I hope what i wrote makes sense.

Does your sister go to Confession and confess to God when she lies, like Catholics are supposed to do? Does she lie as much as you do???

Just curious where it is you learned to lie so much.

No snark please, I am only asking a question.

Not a believer in heaven and hell. I do believe that holding the best amongst of us in high esteem as roll models is a good ideal

Who and what we hold in high esteem is the mark of the person.

So no, in my opinion, it is not a breaking of the 5th. to aspire to better.

It is obvious you have no concern about sin.

Let he who has no sin cast the first stone. You were doing so well in the response to that question, what happened. I believe if someone sincerely asks a question concerning God and our Lord it should be awnsered sincerely. How will they learn unless their told. And if you add an insult how does that bring them to an understanding.

Do they worship Saints or do they ask the Saints to intercede for them? There is a difference. By the way, the Bible teaches all Christians are saints.

We ask he saints to pray for us. Since is The Mother of Jesus, we ask her, especially. We worship only God.

What I believe is this: You need to mind your own business. You've asked me several times now if I have "forgiveness" in my heart for Penny. I do not. Because in the past eight or so years, I have watched her do this fake "nicey nicey" thing many times before.

Thank you, Hope. She's another one who can't let things be. Albert and her are just nasty people regardless. Thank you for your support. I've always wondered about my sister's level of religiosity, so thought people here would be the best group to ask for their opinion, minus the ones who can never be civil, emily and albert.
