I had nothing to do with reagan and don't care what he and others did. IMO the lockdown for Covid did a lot of destruction to our economy. The illegal aliens ain't helping any either.

I agree employers shouldn't hire illegal help, but that is not the only place they are hurting us . The extra housing they occupy and the emergency rooms they overcrowd hurt the hospitals in the border towns.School teachers can't finish their programs because they have to teach slower due to limited English comprehension from illegal students. Many illegal teens join gangs instead of attending school or seeking work which in reases the crime rate. Jails are filling up with illegals domestic disputes and DUI's , stolen vehicles , sex trafficking and much more. Our country builds as it grows but when you dump millions of extras into the mix it gets overwhelmed for awhile , we are seeing this now.and if the rate of illegals isn't curbed it could hurt us to the point of no recovery

I struggle to believe mental hospitals closing under the Reagan administration has anything to do with the spike of homeless and everything to do with Americans loss of buying power, traced back to 1972-1973 Nixon replacing the gold back dollar with the petrodollar. When Bush I took office the national debt was just over 7 trillion, add Obama, Trump, Biden and we are only weeks from crossing over 36 trillion national debt. 8 trillion added since 2020, flood a nation with currency, currency becomes worthless. We just crosses over 125% national interest only payments (1 trillion dollars) to America's GDP......that causes homelessness.

Now homelessness has exploded into tens of millions all over the blue cities and states. Covering around the parks and street corners like wild mushrooms. The difference is these people are mostly drug addicts. Poisoned by drugs the invaders allowed by Biden into America.

Destruction of the economy began in the 1960's and wages have increased only about 10 percent since then. The top paid 1 percent, however, gained from around 300 percent to 1200 percent in that same period, depending on the job or title such as CEO. I'd guess you are a lot young than I am at 79. I lived through all of this and paid attention to what was going on. Yes, we need more help for our homeless veterans. But that is not a significant part if the Republican goals.
