Thanks to artificial intelligence, the driverless car is finally here!

For years, car companies promised that cars would drive themselves, but it never happened... until now.

Now, Google has harnessed artificial intelligence (AI) to create a driverless car called Waymo.
It works kind of like Uber. You open the Waymo app, request a ride, and within minutes, a driverless car shows up.

My executive producer, Maxim Lott, went to Phoenix and San Francisco to learn more about it. He rode in a Waymo with former Argo driverless car executive Alex Roy.

The two sat in the back, since no human needs to sit in the front. The wheel moves itself, as if a ghost were driving.

Waymo's data shows it is already safer than human drivers.

How do the cars manage that?

Lott explains the technology and future of self-driving cars in the full video above.

It's coming, whether we like it or not. It is not the technology that is bad. It is what we do with it—for example, Artificial Intelligence.

The ramifications are going to be profound.

For instance AI could alter the way wars are fought by removing humans from being in control. Technology run amok.

Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics"

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

So, what if a person is harming themselves? What should a robot do?

Issac Asimov wrote these rules years before self harm became an issue.

If a rule was add to cover self harming, robots might take it upon themselves to preventing people from entering liquor stores. 😂

Rule 1 states that a robot may now allow a human to self harm so the robot will restrain the person.

Choice 1: Remove the hot fudge sundae.
Choice 2: Stand by with insulin if needed.

And if the human does not want to give up the sundae?

The human’s well being is primary.
That would result reprogramming. Trauma resolution.

Be quiet. Intelligent adults are communicating; and you are not one of them.

Intelligent? Much of what you post is pot shots. Your self esteem is amazing.

Reminds me of a politician you admire.😂
