There is now evidence accumulating linking it with schizophrenia, lassitude, premature Alzheimer's and a host of other illnesses and conditions. Chronic use has led to amputations. It's hardly innocuous. Still, I do not favor re-criminalization. It will just mean more money for criminals.

On the other hand, educating people about the hazards doesn't seem to stop some people who wish to abuse their bodies, regardless.

Ooo, sorry to hear that LostAggie. Southern and 7Up used to be one of my favorite mixed drinks. Wild Turkey was another offering to the porcelain god in my college days.

Nothing wrong with any natural "drug".
It's the abuse.
Some people can't control themselves.

It used to be natural, but like our food, it has been genetically altered.

Millions of Americans believe marijuana relieves pain, reduces anxiety, improves your mood, and has no side effects. Are they right? Dr. Drew Pinsky, physician, addiction medicine specialist, and media personality, answers this question.

My husband is a Veteran with chronic pain. He uses it for that instead of narcotics. It also calms his PTSD

Much better than opiates!

That is a legitimate medical reason, not recreational use.

Cigarettes, the ultimate gateway drug. It was said in my neighbor hood" girls that smoke wil do anything". Of course this was in fifth grade and we didn't know what " anything "was. But I was anxious to learn how far too far can go

A friend who had cancer used it for nausea and anxiety during his chemo and radiation sessions. He said he couldn’t have gotten through them easily without it.

I believe he died a more peaceful death because of it.

There was a guy at the hospital who was using it for Epileptic seizures very successfully, too.

I agree with you on that. I had a Tshirt Back in the day that said "God Made Grass, Man Made Booze. So Who DoYou Trust? I actually wore that shirt out into tatters...

In my AF Days I preferred vodka sours when I drank mixed drinks. On occasion I will drink Good Irish or Scots Whiskey and HoneyJack. TakillYa usually will send me to the porcelain god now a days.

Vodka sours were good, while I still enjoy TakillYa once in a while as a shot for a birthday celebration.
