Now days a lot of people are working far from their polling places through Election Day. Absentee voting should not be confused with mail in and ballot harvesting.

No it shouldn't. Florida has an exemplary absentee voting system.

One of the big things that was missed by anti voter suppression was that people have to wait in line. I think there should be a 15 minute wait time to vote. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes.

If we went back to a 'vote in person on paper ballots' except for military and disabled persons throughout the country there would be several millions of disabled D-Rats voting by mail.

I agree with the only taking a few minutes. I've had to wait in 1 line for about 10 minutes. Otherwise in and out since I already know whom I'm voting for.

What is voter suppression and how are votes suppressed?

Jim, early voting just gives democrats
more time to calculate the number of fraudulent votes they need to fabricate in order to "win". Early voting is cheating just like mail in voting. Absentee ballots need to be notarized which cuts down on fraud and leaves a paper trail to fraudulent notaries which puts them at risk of arrest. People arrested and convicted of vote fraud need to be given 20 year sentences with no early release. That would slow them down

If you can get rid of mail in balloting (along with drop boxes and voter harvesting) by early voting, that in my opinion would be the best compromise. Think about it. If you had two weeks to vote in person, showing valid ID, why would that be any different than voting on election day?

If we were to adopt the following two changes on our NATIONAL elections similar to what France does, we could vastly improve the time it takes to get election results.

1. Elections in France are centralized. This means the rules for the election are the same no matter where you live, although there are slight variations in when the polls close. The Ministry of the Interior makes technical preparations for elections and develops and distributes ballots. This is very different from the U.S., where elections are decentralized. Counties and municipalities in the U.S. administer elections based on 50 state laws and then report results to states which then certify results and pass them along to Congress.

2. France does not have voting by mail, except for a very small sliver of people who are in pre-trial detention or in jail, Levine said. In the U.S., it takes several days to go through the process dictated by state laws to receive, verify and count millions of mail ballots. Under varying state laws, voters often have a certain number of days to correct defects on their mail ballot, such as if they forgot to sign the return envelope.

Which would place the individual in an absentee ballot position.

45, I repeat myself, early voting just gives democrats more time to calculate the number of fraudulent votes they need to fabricate in order to "win". Early voting is cheating just like mail in voting. Same day voting, paper ballots, hand counted, no machines, more voting stations so ALL ballots are counted before midnight. Picture ID and pre registration required and index finger inserted into purple dye to prevent multiple voting would ensure honest voting.

Even in my small town where everyone knows everyone, we still have to show ID and Voter registration to get in to vote.

I’ve never been for elections run by the federal govt, but states have dropped the ball. I am now for the French model.

I waited over two hours in 2008.
