If god told you to murder a family member as a burnt offering to prove your faith and obedience would you do so? God told Abraham to murder his only son as an offering and Abraham was going to do so but was stopped. It was some sort of practical joke I guess.

It's called having faith and as Abraham is the beginning of God's plan to save humanity it was important he had total faith in God. Your so ignorant of who God is its better you never bring up the subject until you spend alot more time in the bible to get to know the God you insult on a regular basis.
