If Tik Tok were banned we'd likely see a mass suicide among the younger generation, which come to think about it, might not be all bad.

On social media, there needs to be some control over it. You can't have Nazis threatening Jews for example, or just even threatening people you don't like. Since most of these companies are private, they can do whatever they want. Musk is doing just that. I do think there should be some kind of restraints, but just where that should be is debateable.

Oh, I agree. I didn't realize their involvement with China until awhile ago. I don't use it, so didn’t pay much attention to it

Personally I totally believe TikTok should be banned and while they are at it shut down "X". Then FB needs to get out of political posts and go back to what it was in the beginning. A way to keep in touch with family and friends from far away. If they can't be shut down then X and TikTok should install age controls. Nobody allowed under 18. Of course this is entirely my personal opinion and none else's.

I'm not sure how you'd keep them off without a ban. Fake accounts and the like is to easy to get by. An app filter by the government might work. 🤷 my personal opinion would be to just ban it for the good of everybody but that might not go down so easy on some people.
