After reading posts on this forum for several weeks, I have decided to join the fun, so to speak.

I am an army vet, member of the Pershing rifles when I was in college. Left the army due to non-service connected injury, but loved most of my time while serving as a 1st Lt.

After spending more than 2 years in the corporate jungle, I took the buy-out and started two small businesses. One is a lot of fun, the dj/entertainment business. I have met some very interesting people over the past several years.

My business covers western Pa, easteren Ohio, north WVa and western Maryland.

I consider myself to be a centrist with libertarian as well as liberal views, so given the current make-up of the majority of posters here, I probably will be attacked with my first post.

For the record, I do not fear or hate the government, and I don't hate Obama, although he is far from being the presidetn I thought he could be.

BTW, I am white, approaching middle age and am most assuredly upper middle class.

I prefer to engage in sensible dialogue without name-calling and personal attack.

But I can play the game whichever way it goes

Sensible dialogue with libs is scarce as hens teeth,,, I started out that way, and just realized, they ask for "facts" merely to deny them, same old broken record, if you disagree with obamma youre a racist,,,,, thanks for the service,,, I retired after 30 yrs, res, and 23 active,,,so now, for fun I just kick them in the teeth,,,get ready, and don't back down,,, don't waste a lot of time with digging up facts for libs to turn their noses up at..

Those of us here are not opposed to hearing constructive view points. What we are opposed to are posts that are clearly propaganda of left wing looney's. Welcome aboard.

This is your first post (I think.) I am so glad you've decided to join this forum. I must make one comment, though. Why is it so necessary for one to state his military background? Is it a matter of acquiring compadres? Do you not have enough confidence in yourself and your opinions/abilities to enter with only your name? I do appreciate your other accomplishments. Why not open yourself to comment from any angle? There is a lot of sensible dialogue on this forum as well as a lot of BS and emotionalism. Be ready for it.

Thanks to all of those who welcomed me to this forum.

I look forward to sharing ideas and suggestions, hopefully without rancor, but that remains to be seen.

Today, I am on my way to Akron's Firestone CC, to the Bridgestone Open.
I love playing, and will enjoy following some of the greatest golfers in the world.

Some of the "experts" are predicting that Tiger, based on his past performance, will make a stunning "comeback" and post a win.

I favor Rory Mcllroy and Martin Kaymer, but will enjoy the tournament no matter who is on top after today's round.

Alicia, thanks for the comments, and I am happy to explain my position. I love this country, and am proud to have served. I would have considered the army as a career, but that option became unavailable. However, the leadership training provided a springboard to success in business as a VP of sales/marketing, and all of the "perks" that entails. So I am quite happy to share my military experience with those on this forum who consider it to be a badge of honor.

Now, I work for fun, as well as a few bucks to feed my golf habit. As I stated, I like and dislike conservatives and liberals equally, depending on the issue.

BTW, I have enjoyed reading some of your posts and comments. Please continue to contibute.

Because,,,, "service" is a selfless act, that you do for others risking your safety, your success, and the peace that self centered losers like you take for granted...

He served his fellow man, despite hatefilled leaches like you who would benefit from his selfless acts,, when you do that, yes, you have a "connection" with other men and women who are brave enough, and giving enough to risk so much for people like you who don't deserve it.

You know,,, he is everything, you are not.

Upper St.Clair and Mt Lebanon are great. I am in Monroeville, formerly in Latrobe and Greensburg, but I spend a lot of time in the city.
