Don't Rent (or Buy) an Electric Vehicle

On my recent trip to I made the fateful decision to rent a Kia Nero EV. I was in a rush to book the car for a work trip that would take me out of town for about a month. As I was browsing options on Cheaptickets and dreading the cost of a monthly car rental, I saw that Hertz was offering a 40% discount on electric vehicle (EV) rentals compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, making them look like a compelling option. While I took the plunge to try my first EV, I had a nagging feeling that this would turn out to be a mess…

You know... there's some other issues with these EV's, which our liberal racebaiters, envirowackos and globull warming nutz should absolutely be raising h*ll about... That would be the huge 'carbon footprint' and inevitable environmental damage that is being done, before any of these vehicles ever get to the showroom. Mix in the known human rights violations.. including child labor practices.. some of those foreign parts/component manufacturers practice, and the left should be jumping up and down, while screaming bloody murder, to stop all these disgusting practices... All this and the car hasn't driven a mile yet... I don't know what the 'breakeven point' is (the miles that need to be driven ON THE ORIGINAL BATTERY to offset EACH CARS CARBON FOOTPRINT to 0 vs an IC model..) but I bet it'll be at least 6 digits long (100,000+ miles).. and there are many cars that will never see this-on it's orig batt anyway-due to wrecks, fires, or maybe becoming terminally inoperable??? When a new EV appears in the show-room, it has already caused 30,000 pounds of carbon-dioxide emission (vs 14,000 pounds for a similar IC model). They also don't like to be questioned about factoring in the footprint from the oil fired power generators (that will have to be used to keep these things charged) which they're definitely going to have to utilize, either. This is such an obvious loser scheme these idiots are saddling us with.. and someday these EV's will be great.. but not in the immediate future. Drill baby drill.............
