Expecting a personal letter from the Speaker of the House is, in my opinion, expecting too much. Besides, the usual procedure is for you to talk to your Representative and Senator. THEY are the ones who are supposed to represent you.
Do this: call the toll-free US Capitol switchboard.

Tell the operator which Representative or Senator you want to speak to. When you are connected, you may be able to speak to "your guy" but chances are he/she will not be there. Tell his staffer why you are calling and your concerns. He/she will write it down and pass it on to "your man in Washington". This is how the system works, so use it. Don't try to use it in a way that will not produce results.
I just called the numbers above to make sure they were right. All three put me into a queue bec. the "operators were assisting other callers". This is a good sign! People are calling their representatives. You need to do the same.

Yes you are right, the majority members of our U.S. Congress are elected and supported with the $$$$$ money they received from the Corporations and the special interest to pass the best laws money can buy, and evade and invalidate democratically-enacted reforms to help the majority American who struggle to survive with the high cost of living increases.
