I suspect IV antibiotics worked well. I just got a lecture from my dentist about don't you dare stop taking the antibiotics that are prescribed to you. Finish the whole bottle. You need to kill off all the little buggies, or they can come back worse than before.

I had a similar experience, eeaarlier this year. found out I had a blood sugar count of 305....[ Now under contrrol, with meds, & diet change!...[ lost over 50 lbs, in a year!]

I was on antibiotics for tick bites several times to prevent lyme disease. I always finished the 3 week regimen. A friend of mine felt fine when he had a tick bite and failed to finish the pills he was prescribed. He was oversees when the lyme disease kicked in and spent 2 months in the hospital.
Again, with antibiotics you must follow the doctor's orders.
