The Palestinians are in a terrible position. I truly do feel for them.
But they put themselves there, and have screwed Israel and the world with every single offer and chance to find peace. over the past 50 years.

I've actually studied those offers... They were always rhetorical, every last one them. Imagine I took your house and told you and your family to GTFO. Then when a mediator comes over, I offer you the gazebo in the back yard. Would you be insulted? Would you say no? Let's say you do... Then I look at the mediator and shrug my shoulders and say see? Every time I offer him something, he refuses.

It's intentional... None of those offers were ever designed to actually make peace. They were designed to put the blame on the Palestinians for not agreeing.

They have made it clear they will not stop until Israel and all Jews are destroyed.

Some of them have. I'm watching people right here suggesting we do the same to them. People get angry and say things.

RandyBrian wrote:

While I have a lot of sympathy for them, my choice is to support the people that has been persecuted for 5000 years,

That's utterly meaningless to me. WTF cares about what happened 5,000 years ago?

and has struggled to do as little damage as possible to the Palestinians consistent with keeping there own people as safe as possible since 1948.

Except for when they bulldoze Palestinian homes to make room for Jewish settlements. Amazing how you folks just keep forgetting that.

RandyBrian wrote:

Even in that, they have paid a terrible price, over the years, with not putting an end to the willing butchers in Gaza.

That's their own fault. If you shove 2.5 million people into a 25 mile strip and control everything going in and out, including water and power and the people themselves, your going to create some resentment.

Now, imagine how pissed off you WOULD be if your people had been kicked out of your homeland, subjected to 2000 years of discrimination, then finally took your home land back, LEGALLY having it recognized by the world (the UN), and were then subjected to over 70 years of invasions, attacks, poisonings, rapes, and your children being targeted and slaughtered BY THE PEOPLE YOU have allowed to stay in YOUR country, when they could have easily been forced out or killed.
OF COURSE the former Palestinians resent Israel. Tough. Too bad. Very sorry, but that does NOT give them the right to become the venomous snakes that keep attacking innocents with murder and torture. Their whole policy is death and pain, and they should/must/WILL be stopped.
If those 'people' had lived their new lives in peace, then today they would have been full citizens with all the rights of any other Israeli. Israel is FILLED with such good people, and THEY are hated by the Palestinians terrorists more than the Israelis are.
I feel for the former Palestinians. I really do, but that does NOT justify what they are doing.

Gaza wasn't this way 17 years ago when Sharon ordered a full disengagement and turned the Gaza Strip over to the Arabs. This is of their own making.

I think we should cut off ties to Israel until they sit down to talk seriously about a 2-state solution. If we did that the rest of the world would be there in a minute to join us.

As I stated earlier. The two state solution is suicide for Israel.
So it comes as no surprise for you to support it.

You are very good at rationalizing what you want to believe. Using your example, yes, I would take the gazebo and then try to make things better. I would NOT repeatedly attempt to burn the main house down, nor would I kidnap, torture, and kill the children.
Israel is a nation. Like it or not, it is there and is not going away. But we can offer the Palestinians new homes throughout the world. It would be far cheaper to move them and stake them than keep going the way that area has been going for all these decades.
But they won't do it, will they? As a group, they are too invested in hatred to willingly give it up. Much like the Democrat party.
