Emotionally, I'm with the Israelis right now. It was a vicious attack against civilians and it was reported.

What wasn't reported nearly as much as it should have been is the 50+ year plight of Palestinians being killed and treated as 2nd class people. Having their lands stolen. Think how you'd feel if that happened to your community.

But now it looks like a very difficult place to start bargaining for a 2 state solution. The evil of killing kids at a party! Kidnapping civilians! Horrifying.

They're writing the death warrants of their own people.

There isn't a two state solution when one side doesn't want peace but wants to kill every Jew in Israel and have all the land. Appeasement doesn't work as in the evidence that the land for peace deal proves. Drive them out to Muslim controlled countries. Take back all the land you tryed to broker peace with. It's a failure period.

That is a very BAD solution.
Unfortunately, all the less bad solutions have been tried, and failed, or are refused by the Muslim countries.
This may be a bad solution, but the only ones I see are: maintain the status, or turn Gaza into a parking lot, or yours.
I think it is time to seriously consider the one you propose.

That's according to the IDF, which is probably why Fox is the only major network reporting it. None of that has been confirmed by a second source as far as I know. Also, there are a lot of other factions getting involved. Remember that Israel also took a chunk from Syria, the Golan Heights.

There is also, the Islamic rule where a nation should be ruled by one of it's own. Western interests in the Middle-East has always been a problem for the more religious people, like the Taliban or the Saudi terrorists like Osama bin Laden or ISIS... These are all ultra-religious, right-wing groups. These Sunni Muslims take Islam to heart and don't want their space invaded by foreigners. Israel is the outpost for western influence, so that makes them the target for a lot of fundamentalists with a passion for Allah and guns. Beheading seems to be a thing with them.

I don't see the Palestinians or the Shites in the same way. Obviously, they are capable of horrible things but I think for them it's mostly because they are being severely oppressed.


That's just 100% bullshit.

Israel *did* warn them... But BBC has coverage from Gaza, the warnings came only minutes before the attacks. Netanyahu told them to stay away from anything "Hamas"... Well, Hamas runs the hospitals. And no, Israel did NOT leave a "port" open. Nor are there any human shields... The IDF is killing Palestinians and calling them human shields is their excuse.

This will get very ugly and in the end I fear, Israel will lose what little respect it had. It's going to put them back to 1974 when the ONLY country on their side was the U.S.

I can't understand why they would do it.

But I'm starting to wonder if this is a point where maybe they just gave up. Israel has done such a good job of clamping them down and cutting them off from everyone else that there doesn't seem to be much hope for them to EVER win their freedom. Maybe this is their hail Mary play, or the blaze they choose to go out in... Or maybe they got pushed to complete insanity.

The Palestinians are in a terrible position. I truly do feel for them.
But they put themselves there, and have screwed Israel and the world with every single offer and chance to find peace. over the past 50 years. They have made it clear they will not stop until Israel and all Jews are destroyed.
While I have a lot of sympathy for them, my choice is to support the people that has been persecuted for 5000 years, and has struggled to do as little damage as possible to the Palestinians consistent with keeping there own people as safe as possible since 1948.
Even in that, they have paid a terrible price, over the years, with not putting an end to the willing butchers in Gaza.
