and we want the terrorist attacks to stop once and for all.
Yes, we all do.

It seem the only way to do so is to remove every single individual from the field of play so they can no longer harm anyone, including their own citizens.
That would be the entire population then because the entire population is suffering under Israeli oppression which is why the entire population is fighting for their freedoms. You keep insisting that Israel is only attacking militants to make yourself feel better about it, but it's a lie. In truth, Israel is attacking ALL Palestinians because ALL Palestinians are fighting for their freedom.

I'd rather focus on avoiding this from happening again.
How do you propose doing that?
Well, it's not going to happen overnight. But I still think a two-state solution is the best possible approach.

Does it not occur to you that Hamas is doing exactly what you are arguing against? They want to kill every Jew and wipe Israel off the face of the map.
Yes, 75 years of violent oppression has turned them into extremists. I don't see the IDF and Hamas as being any different from each other as far as that goes. They both want to exterminate the other. The only thing I would add is that Hamas didn't start it, Israel did.

And we depend as much on them.
No we aren't. We don't actually depend on Israel for anything other than military advantages in the region. Oh, and I guess the liability of supporting a hostile regime and therefore all the attacks we get. Thank you Israel for 9/11, BTW.

Hamas is being funded by our money and weapons from Iran and the Taliban.
No, Hamas is being funded by Iranian money, not ours and the Taliban has nothing to do with it.

Israel has made peace with Egypt, the Abraham Accords, and an Agreement with Saudi Arabia was in the works.
Yes, Carter helped to broker peace between Israel and Egypt but that doesn't mean Egypt is OK with Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territories or the human rights abuses that occur on a daily basis under that occupation. Most European countries are at peace with Israel too and yet every single one of them denounce Israel's occupation.

Probably still is because of Iran's involvement in this attack as a state sponsor of terrorism. The Saudis are not fond of Iran because of their involvement in Yemen and because of the Sunni/Shite divide in Islam.
The Sunni/Shite divide is a major factor in the Middle-East. Extremists on both sides have developed right-wing factions that want to dominate the region. U.S. involvement is based on oil. In 1953, Iran democratically refused to open their oil reserves to U.S. companies and so they became our enemies. On the other hand, democracy doesn't exist in Saudi Arabia and the totalitarian king decided to open their reserves wide-open to U.S. companies and that's how they became our "friends".
Most of the Palestinians are Shite Muslims, so that's why Iran supports them. Meanwhile Israels relentless abuses of the Palestinian people put them at odds with Iran and because of this, Israel has become a strategic asset for the U.S. in region.
