Here is the simple solution that the left never mentions, because it doesn't fit their agenda to destroy the oil industry and the American economy.

You are a pawn in their scheme and don't realize it......or do you?

"Some scientists are going a step or two beyond the present CO2 scrubbers designed for power plants and suggesting devices that would literally pull CO2 out of thin air. The treelike units would stand out in the open and collect CO2 on their surfaces. Similar to a tree taking in CO2 for photosynthesis, but many times stronger, the units would have a special sorbent that would pull in CO2 from the surrounding air and store it."

There Is no scheme to destroy the oil industry per se nor am I a Pawn for anybody, but the oil industry perceives a threat to it's existence and it's profits and as such puts out reams of propaganda through organizations such as Heartland institute and other right wing sources. But the amount of Co2 build up if stopped today would result in global temperatures rising for several decades before various CO2 sinks began to remove excess carbon from the atmosphere and equilibrium would be reached. At the rate humans are progressing in reducing emissions it doesn't bode well for the Future, and the world needs to get serious very soon. The world population is growing at 80 million per year and is an ominous sign for the health of our home here on earth

You should try proposing some real solutions, instead of fear mongering, pushing "green energy" bs and "must get off carbon based fuels" now, that i always hear. We all know that it will take years, decades possibly a century to curb the use of carbon based fuels, the technology to replace them simply does not exsist at this time. Why would you waste time and money on the aforementioned bs, rather than applying exsisting technology that actually works.

No, there is obviously a hidden agenda and any one of fair intelligence such as yourself should be able to see that.

We all want clean air but, we also must be sure that what we're doing is having a real effect on the environment, not just lining the pockets of bureaucrats and raising energy prices.

Co2 has jack to do with (global warming). It stores the lowest amount of energy of any of the high ratio gases in the atmosphere. Do we need to move away from carbon fuel sources absolutely as the tech necomes available or affordable

In November california auctioned off 25 million credits in large blocks of 1,000 at $10.00 per credit to large industrial companies. Small individual investors can participate through a broken just like a stock broker.

Oh yes Clear lake, nice! I was born on a farm in Oklahoma that my Grandfather the one born in that cabin
purchased in 1906 from the original homesteader. Who homesteaded in the 1889 land rush. Today I live on a golf course in Brentwood on the western edge of the great San Joaquin Delta a virtual castle compared to some of the places I lived in as a youngster.

Used to have a friend who had a house on the lake there. I have taken my boat from Lost Isle to Brentwood a few times. I lived 40 yeas in Fairfield.

Nickolai,

A little more perspective on the issue of global warming..

In 2008, Al Gore boldly declared to a German audience that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.” (Needless to say, that did not happen. In fact, the ice cap in the Arctic actually got larger this year.)

Another Al Gore quote:“The interior of the earth is extremely hot – several million degrees.” (It actually peaks out at about 11,000 degrees.)

Do you wonder why confidence in his expertise and credibility may be in doubt by the "deniers"?

As time goes by, the scientific evidence continues to mount. It is becoming painfully evident that the theory of man-made global warming simply is not true. The following is from a recent New American article…

Contrary to the alarmist “predictions” by Gore and what critics refer to as his “doomsday cult,” the latest satellite data show that Arctic ice cover has actually expanded 50 percent over 2012 levels. In fact, during October, sea-ice levels grew at the fastest pace since records began in 1979. Experts predict the expansion to continue in the years to come.
In September, meanwhile, data also showed that sea ice levels in Antarctica had expanded to record levels for the second year in a row. Of course, by now, virtually everyone who has been following news about “global warming” — now more often referred to as “climate change” owing to public-relations concerns — also knows that global temperatures have not risen for some 17 years.
-----------------------------------
The spectacular lack of warming demolished all 73 of the “climate models” used by the United Nations to push its controversial theories. (These computer models were (and still are) the basis for the original claim and the push for drastic actions)
------------------------------------------
Sadly, most of the governments of the planet still consider “man-made global warming” to be one of the greatest threats facing us, and the U.S. government is leading the charge. In fact, the U.S. government has been giving other nations billions of dollars to help them cope with “climate change”…

If you are looking for a UN motive for the global warming push, consider this:
American taxpayers spent $7.45 billion to help developing countries cope with climate change in fiscal years 2010 through 2012, according to a federal government report submitted to the United Nations on a subject that Secretary of State John Kerry described as “a truly life-and-death challenge. And it appears that Barack Obama plans to make the fight against global warming a major point of emphasis for the rest of his time in office…

Considering the host of other major problems that this country is facing, it truly is ironic that the federal government is spending so much time and energy fighting a problem that doesn’t even exist.

And if you doubt that the main stream Media is supporting this push by biased reporting, consider the following:

Remember when a team of “climate change scientists” went down to the Antarctic to study “global warming” and had to be rescued by helicopter when their ship got stranded in the ice… (A group of climate change scientists were rescued by helicopter Jan. 2, after being stranded in the ice since Christmas morning).

But the majority of the broadcast networks’ reports about the ice-locked climate researchers never mentioned climate change.

The Russian ship, Akademic Shokalskiy, was stranded in the ice while on a climate change research expedition, yet nearly 98 percent of network news reports about the stranded researchers failed to mention their mission at all. Forty out of 41 stories (97.5 percent) on the network morning and evening news shows since Dec. 25 failed to mention climate change had anything to do with the expedition.

In fact, rather than point out the mission was to find evidence of climate change, the networks often referred to the stranded people as “passengers,” “trackers” and even “tourists,” without a word about climate change or global warming.

(These are the "climate scientists" being referred to as experts by some of the OPP posters)

Yes, the climate of the earth is changing. Throughout history it has always been changing.

Sadly, nothing seems to dissuade the true believers of this "green" Religion.

Speaking for myself, as a proud "denier", there is NO objection to a reasonable approach to improve the environment; the program should exclude all GOVERNMENT collection of monies, and, if a private organization were to be used to administer a reasonable "cap and trade" program, the budget (all income and distribution of that income) should be posted on the internet and readily available to ALL)
A part of any program of this sort should also carry a mandatory requirement for a comprehensive periodic report of the effectiveness of the program for review by congress, not by an Executive branch controlled federal agency such as the EPA.

The EPA is stealing from the American consumer in it's war against CO2 while the coal industry is increasing exports of coal to foreign countries. 80,000 tons bound for South America. China is building a new coal fired electrical generating plant every day. Therefore, all efforts of the EPA are for naught. Costs to American consumers will do major damage to the economy. Foreign goods will be cheaper while American goods will not be competitive in the global economy. More and more corporations are moving their headquarters over seas. 70 major corporations so far. Walgreens has announced plans to do likewise. Due to corporate tax rates and EPA regulations and fines all corps will move off sore leaving no jobs for American. Then, the EPA can say: "we have been successful in eliminating all causes of climate change in the United States." Yes, a great victory for liberals. Wait., before that happens welfare recips will be rioting in the street and burning down Chicago, chanting: "where is my welfare check."

All Gore might been off a bit in the rate at which the Ice sheets in the arctic are receding but that doesn't detract from the fact that The ice sheets in the summer arctic has receded by 40 % in the last 40 years and the warmest ten years on record have occurred in the last 10 years. May and June 2014 are the hottest May and June on record for the world and for drought stricken California . Las Vegas is now in a 14 year drought. The flow from the Colorado has been severally reduced during this time and Lake Mead the only source of water for Vegas has fallen by 100 feet and is expected to fall another 20 feet this year below the intake pipe. The Jetstream seems to have been effected by the warmer climate in the Arctic and this has had the effect of a persistent pattern of drought in the west and sever weather in the east with cold arctic bearing down from the arctic and sever flooding.

Aticipating such an event the City is building another intake lower in the lake at a cost of $800,000 The city has paid so far $200,000 to residents to tear up their lawns and install plastic grass or native plants that require low levels of water.
Scientist have known that Co2 is a green house gas for a long time and that global temperatures are regulated by the amt. of it in the atmosphere. Warmer average temperatures increase evaporation of the seas increasing the amt. of water vapor which is itself a green house gas. It is true that China is building coal fired electrical plants at an alarming rate but at the same time China is aware and are concerned about global warming and are taking steps to curb the release in to the atmosphere. It has been proven that Carbon from such plants can be stored deep underground and needn't be released into the atmosphere

The evidence is mounting that global warming is caused by man and that carbon in the atmosphere has been rising the last 50 years plus. from 280 ppm in mid 19th century to 400 ppm today the highest according to ice cores drillings in the last 800,000 years.

I submitted a detailed post a few days ago, and it was ignored. Apparently too much to read. So here is a summary. Roy Spencer, climatologist, author, and former NASA scientist is exposing the CO2 lie. Here is his web site http://www.drroyspencer.com/

Here is part of his discussion of CO2 -- "As of 2008, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was about 40% to 45% higher than it was before the start of the industrial revolution in the 1800′s.

It is interesting to note that, even though carbon dioxide is necessary for life on Earth to exist, there is precious little of it in Earth’s atmosphere. As of 2008, only 39 out of every 100,000 molecules of air were CO2, and it will take mankind’s CO2 emissions 5 more years to increase that number by 1, to 40."

Roy is a real climatologist, not a pseudo scientist paid by the government to "prove" a CO2/global warming connection. He goes on to say that climate will continue to change regardless of mankind's influence. He ends his statement with "Climate change — it happens, with or without our help."
