Grandma, SCOTUS took prayer out of school, gave approval to public pornography as a 1st Amendment right, put their imprimatur to abortion, same sex marriage - destroying forever traditional marriage and the nuclear family in America - gave special rights to LGBTQ, and they sit on their thumbs silent, absolutely mute, over the obvious election interference by the DNC's and Biden's ownership of the DOJ. SCOTUS may claim morality cannot be legislated yet they've provided clear, unobstructed fertile grounds, for immorality to grow. I can't begin to imagine how much worse it would have been under the weight of an overwhelming number of Progressive Associate Justices. Today we have many laws and legal minds absent common sense & wisdom.

SCOTUS reversed the abortion law. Not all religions recognize civil marriages or same sex marriages. Some do so.
What do you call traditional marriage. Would calling one that is not recognized as a marriage by a religion a traditional marriage? The Catholic church and orthodox Judaism do not recognize civil marriages. Is that hurting so called traditional marriages. I do not think so. A same sex marriage does not destroy mine. Why should it destroy others? Some true morality can be legislated. Thou shall not murder, steal, etc. Thou shall not murder babies is fine with me. Thou shall not steal and the rest of the 10 commandments is fine with me. No, you expect too much from SCOTUS. Better legislation would help. We all know that. Perhaps you should become active in making that happen.

Sorry grandma, but you're evidently a microcosm of one of the indicators of that which happens to a society in the throes of self destruction. 1. The rise of the acceptance and practice of sexual deviance. 2. An increase in spousal & child abuse. 3. The elderly become more tolerant and fail to pass on their wisdom, traditional morals and values to their progeny.

To answer your question on what constitutes a traditional marriage it is a marriage, both legal and lawful, between a man and a woman.

Legal, and lawful......this is where it gets all wadded up in my mind.
Why should I have to pay the government a fee in order become wed to the woman that I love?
Does the Bible include government fees when it comes to marriage?

So that the government can make sure there are financial obligations etc. for married people, straight or gay. It is all about financial protection.

Lawful, Archie, pertains to a sacramental marriage. I should have explained that better. And your right about the nonsense of having to pay government a fee to marry the woman you love either legally or lawfully. Hells bells someday they'll demand Prima Nocta.

I said my vows to my wife before God, and, they are binding. Thick, and thin.
It's that simple to me.
Maybe, I'm old school, and have values, or something.
I don't know anymore.........

Sir,
People can never be property ! When this nation's founding fathers agreed to a constitution the issue of slavery was hardly even discussed. This nation's representatives knew that any discussion or debate on the issue of slavery would cause the slave states to walk out of the convention and there would not be a United States let alone a constitution. The state of North Carolina made a proposal to wait for twenty years after ratification of the constitution to bring up the issue of the importation of slavery . This was the very first time kick the can down the road was utilized by a not yet elected congress. Since between then and now there as been so many cans kicked by the federal government you could build a super airplane carrier with all that steel. In the founding documents of this nations the one most repeated single issue is ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL.

Sir,
The one thing that is truly great about America is the Constitution of The United States. In this year of 2023 the constitution is 236 years old. The longest of any constitution in the world. The history of the United States is a extremely well defined in written documents. If the elected officials of this nation would stop wasting their time worrying about reelection and spent more time studying the history of the greatest nation of all times they would stop repeating past political mistakes. There are very few political issues that have not occurred in this elected Republic pass 236 years. Every thing from war to taxes have at one time or another been an issue. Yet our federal government thinks that the outcome is going to be different this time. That sir is nothing but insanity.

Dear Gandma,
I am 71 years old. All I do is live in reality. The present Supreme Court is in my opinion is one of the greatest Supreme Courts of all times in American history. Yet the history of this nation is the greatest history of all times since the creation of mankind. Because there is evel in the world to not look at our history is to repeat passed mistakes. Every one of this federal governments pass issues weather it be the legislative, executive, or judicial at one time or another has been evil. In 2023 will mark 236 years of the founding fathers creation of the greatest nation that has ever existed in the world. An Elected Republic of,by,and for the people. Yet even with all that greatness there at times have been evil in this land.
