WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH "SCHOOL BOARDS"???Melissa Tempel, a first-grade teacher, was dismissed by a school board in Wisconsin on Wednesday, following her attempt to incorporate "Rainbowland," a song by Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton, into a concert last March.
"Rainbowland" portrays an imaginary world where unity and peace are prevalent.
Backlash arose within the Waukesha-area community surrounding Heyer Elementary School after first-graders, who had prepared and practiced the song as part of a wider concert playlist, returned home disheartened due to the removal of the song from the performance.
In March, members of the Waukesha school board prohibited elementary school students from performing the song at a spring concert, considering it excessively contentious.
Local media outlet, WISN 12 News, received confirmation from Waukesha school district officials that Tempel was put on leave starting April 3.
Superintendent James Sebert reportedly dispatched a letter in May to the Board of Education, advocating for Tempel's termination, as per information from WISN 12 News.
Tempel was required to attend a hearing with school authorities to deliberate on her potential dismissal.
Tempel's legal representatives stated that the educator's airing of frustrations on social media was a breach of board policy, due to her failure to first address her complaints with her superiors.

No problem with forcing little white kids to apologize to little brown/black kids for slavery though. How big do the unions need to be to say this isn't right?

Teaching that slavery occurred and that it was....AND IS...wrong aint apologizing it's just stating a fact. I'm white and I have nothing to apologize for as far slavery is concerned but I do have a bunch of other stuff I did that I should apologize for.
Maybe if the LGBTQRTSTUVWXYZ community had claimed the rainbow as their flag then the song would have been approved. Stop backing the heterosexuals in a corner and changing the public understanding of words. If it says "Rainbow" then most people now relate that to the perverted movement from the left.
Slavery has been an accepted fact of life for all of recorded history and probably well before then. Every single civilization in history has had slavery at one time or another. Up until the last maybe 300 years, most people (other than the slaves) saw nothing really wrong with it. You cannot say it WAS wrong, because you cannot judge people of the past when life was tougher and morals were somewhat harsher than now by today's standards. Slavery, except, as our Constitution states, as punishment for a crime is wrong NOW.
Speaking of which, Amnesty International estimates there are currently more than 20 million people worldwide being held in slavery, although every country in the world has laws against it.
Slavery was legal in parts of Africa until 2007.
Before I forget, regarding reparations, some of my family owned slaves and some WERE slaves. I have done my part for reparations. I wrote myself a check. That way I penalized my family that owned them and rewarded my family that were them.
The true history of slavery should absolutely be taught in our schools. Absolutely, a 100% agreed. But standing little kids up in front of other little kids and making them apologize for something they didn't do is f***** and it's wrong.

The best I remember, they maybe mentioned slavery in school when I was young. They were too busy teaching reading, writing and arithmatic to spend roo much time on history. We had to learm how to take care of ourselves and our families.
Just saw the movie Sound of Freedom. There are more people (mostly children) enslaved now than anytime in history. People like puke kevy don’t care because he can’t make points off their suffering.
