Conversations, debates, arguments, communications all rely on one thing, there being a common ground of core facts that the topic at hand can all go to as the facts based reality.
This is why those on the hard right cannot have an intelligent discussion, they insist on basing their arguments on an alternate set of facts and reality...their reality is based on everything that has been proved to be false, yet they refuse to accept the facts.
Actually the problem is not the hard right anything, just the basic right conservative. The problem is not the ability of the conservative to have a conversation with a liberal. The problem is no one can talk to a liberal. The liberals are the ones who have a hard time dealing with facts. That is proven every day when I listen to the news. I feel sorry for the liberals because the media keeps the facts hidden from them, so they are not really to blame.
The old adage has been proven every day by our leader and others following him. If you tell a lie often enough it will be taken as truth and believed by everyone. Except the discerning smart guys.
