Tuesday morning, an amicus brief was filed by the House Ways and Means Committee. The filed brief to Delaware US District Judge Maryellen Noreika argues that the 53-year-old had benefited from “political interference which calls into question the propriety of the investigation” into alleged crimes including money laundering, felony tax evasion, and failure to register as a foreign agent, the New York Post reports.

Finally someone has done a small but right thing regarding Hunter. A broad blanket immunity to all Hunters criminal behavior over the years for a guilty plea to two tax misdemeanors is ludicris. A constitutionally principled fair judge. Who'd of thunk.
We'll see where it goes from here. I still have little faith in the overall justice system concerning political corruption. If this were to go to trial it is the same prosecution that tried to make this plea deal that will be doing it.
