You are absolutely correct! The starry-eyed lunatics won't admit it though.

You start when you catch the bad guys like Hunter Biden. He and everyone else who intentionally puts false information on a gun form, need to do hard time. This ain't rocket science. You must stop giving everybody a break.

And I am just getting started. The other big gun crime that almost never gets fully prosecuted is straw buying of firearms. If Grandma buys a gun for her crack head grandson who has a record, Grandma needs to go to the hoosegow. I know, I know you think I am full of horse manure, but I ain't.

" " I think you have to have public officials take this more seriously," said Dr. Daniel W. Webster, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research in Baltimore. "Cracking down and sending a message on illegal straw-purchasers is really central, in my opinion, to ultimately having long-term sustainable reductions in gun violence." "

I agree with your idea of cracking down on straw buyers. If grandma or Grandpa Buy a firearm for their grandson with a record then both should be prosecuted and jailed or fined if convicted.

DO NOT purchase a firearm before you receive proper training in handling guns.👍

Anti gunners just keep passing more gun control laws, because no matter how many laws, the bad and the crazy keep shooting people. Then when you check into it you find that none of the gun laws are ever fully enforced. Mostly in Blue cities and states Liberal Prosecutors nearly always always always plead down felony gun charges to misdemeanors.

Back in the bad old days criminals thought twice about having a gun on them when they say burgled a house, because if they were caught with the gun they got many more years added to their prison time. Now when Joe Bad Guy goes out on the town, he makes sure to have a pistol on him, because no matter what the law says, there is no difference if he is arrested.

I disagree, buy the gun then train to use it, cuz it's gonna be the one you shoot.

With lostaggies ignorance of firearms, my post was directed at them. I think a person should have some previous experience or someone to guide you through proper handling before having a loaded gun in their hand.

Absolutely will do that. My Best Friend is a former firearms instructor, Capt of Collegiate Rifle Team (SHSU,Hunstville TX 82-85) Alternate for 84 Olympics and the Biggest MAGA/Conservative Supporter EVER. Unsure how many guns he owns currently, shoots daily and teaches any who want to learn..Making those here look like Leftists. A AF Vet and Amputee, Harley Owner and rider still at 80. A Conservative Who Supports LGBTQ Community and oh Yeah He's A Priest of Norse Paganism. I will call him later this evening to set up a road trip he is about 4hrs from me.

Not ignorance. I just never have wanted to own a firearm I am completely aware how they are used and the laws for owning one or more . I prefer fishing to hunting and target archery to guns but that may change in the future. Over the past 40yrs I have practiced target shooting under supervision and of course had basic qual at Lackland in 74.

If someone has never shot or owned a gun, yes, teach them to safely handle a firearm.
I've instructed quite a few first time shooters.

Whenever someone who'd never shot or owned a gun came to me asking questions,
first thing I ask is what they want the gun for - target shooting, hunting, self-defense, or any combination thereof.
Most common response from first timers is self-defense.

Then I ask how much they are willing to spend on a gun and ammo,
and how much time they will commit to training with it.

Then, depending on whether the person is a 110 pound woman or a 200 pound man,
We discuss their options and I help them choose the best gun for their size and purpose.
Where possible we go to a legit FFL and check out what's available, let him or her handle
a number of guns, get a feel for the one they like best. Find the best fit, so to speak.
Usually a gun dealer will have instructors and a selection of guns for training.

Once they make a decision and buy the gun, you train them. It's a process.
Right now I'm in the process of training a friend with his brand new AR15.

I fired my first shot when I was 5, two years later, I was good enough, my dad gave me my first gun, a Winchester semi-auto 22 rifle. Since then, I can't even count how many different guns I've shot nor could I even guess how many rounds I've fired.

In Navy boot camp, we went to Camp Pendleton for weapon quals.
My Marine instructor was quite impressed with my marksmanship.
"You must be a country boy, son."
"Aye, aye, sir."

Country folk will be the survivors if SHTF.
Good to know how to shoot, especially if you're in a blue city.
