I think it's great to stand up for your faith. Most people I know have strong faith in God (including myself), but do not care to preach to others as a constant theme of discussion.

STOP!

If you want to, you can stop your unsavory and ill mannered discussions about the gay bedroom activities you imagine are taking place. That would be a good start.

You should have bowed out of this topic long ago. You aren’t on moral high ground - just the opposite.

This is what you do. You take things people say out of context, twist them around, and make it look like they meant something else. You are a snake.

You talk the Christian talk, but you don't walk the walk - at all.

Bingo.

A lengthy thread, this one is. Remarkably, despite being a "not-so-good" Catholic and Alcoholic, I can get to the same place you (and most righties) get simply with logic, science and common sense without the need to bring religion into the discussion. When you add the former and the latter you wind up with a slam dunk.

Call me what you want.

I tried to explain that to you the other day on another topic but you bit me!

What I remember is that you said this to Blade_Runner:

"Zemirah has been very thorough in the exegesis of this matter, and has much more wisdom than any other person on opp except for ziggy. You are free to believe what you want, but remember that false teachings are deadly."

And when Blade_Runner responded with a detailed reason why he believed what he believed you told him "he "had better read the book or join a Bible teaching church". And when he responded to that in even greater detail, you told him "So many syllables, yet NO scripture!🤷‍♂️".

You admonished one of the more knowledgeable Bible-studying people on OPP for not knowing what was in the Bible! All I did was add my two cents - that he knows the Bible inside and out. Telling him that he needs to study the Bible more was like telling a mechanic who has been working on cars for 50 years he needs to read a manual.

If you want to call that "biting you", so be it.

Once again you make stupid, vacuous, and inane remarks and deliberate misrepresentations in a dull-witted attempt to be snarky. It seems to be your fall back routine.....sort of like your inept version of "Oh YEAH? Well, the same to YOU!" It has long since gotten boring.
I do not discuss such activities, as you well know. Or should if you have ever paid attention to my posts. As has been clearly stated by myself and others, if the L+ crowd leave it in the bedroom, then few will have complaints.
Yes, there will ALWAYS be some that attack them, just because they exist. Just as their will always be Democrats that embrace racism. Such people do not believe in live and let live. But most Republicans and Conservatives and Maga followers DO believe in live and let live. Very VERY few liberals believe in it. Their motto is "you HAVE to make the choices I approve of".
Please quit twisting and exaggerating and misrepresenting what I and others write on OPP. Or do you enjoy looking like a complete ass?

I can see your point. The Conservative version of the "live and let live" philosophy made its appearance recently in a broadcast on the far right One America Network. The spokesperson was calling President Joe Biden the "Groomer-in-Chief" and alleged that Democrats are now the party of perversion, gender 'mutilation' and an end to human production itself. So much for live and let live.

Not surprising that you have to ask that.

Why do you think she told us that they wouldn't be responsible for what was in our food if we stayed in their restaurant?

I don't know why anyone would object to a "Jesus Loves You" T-shirt. We are all happy to know we are among the chosen. When you wear your "Fuck Biden" T-shirt you should probably run for the door and never look back.

Yes, it's understandable why you don't understand that. If you were a Christian, you would.

And implying that I wear a tee shirt that says that about Biden is a perfect example of how you try to twist things up about people. I would never own a shirt or anything else that has the "F" word on it.

God loves you, DASHY. Maybe you should try to figure out what that means.

Whatever, he’s wrong about hell/lake of fire. It’s eternal. There’s a movement going around that parallels his views. It’s not biblical however. Do you believe in the nihilism doctrine?

You are changing the subject. You told me I "bit" you, I explained the conversation as it unfolded. End of story.

In case you didn't know it, Hell is the loss of the Beatific Presence! Forget fire and brimstone, Go ask a priest. Which is the greater punishment?

It’s not about you except for your support of false teachings. You defended him as being infallible, but you mustn’t have read much that Zemirah posted.

I've read several theories on what Hell is. I just don't know. My thinking is that I won't know until I am finished here on earth when I will be shown the truth about everything regarding our lives and our deaths.

The Bible does mention a lake of fire many times, but it also mentions weeping and gnashing of teeth and being tormented forever. I don't know what those mean....but it makes me think of being deeply depressed forever, or tormented with the realism that those who end up there lived a life that kept them from being happy ever again. I can think of a few verses about Hell that stayed with me when I read them...

Matthew 22:13 - Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Revelation 14:11 - And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

2 Thessalonians 1:9 - They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.

You made it about me when you started this. And yes, I defended Blade_Runner, not because he is infallable (which is funny that you think that was what I was doing!), but because you accused him of not reading the Bible enough and it is not just me that knows that he is very well-read when it comes to the Bible. And Zemirah, although I respect and admire what she has to say, does not speak on my behalf.
