I am glad your economy is in recovery. Do not judge the country by your little microcosm. I'm doing okay, but I live in a depressed area. If the economy is recovering, why are there record numbers of people on Food Stamps, and why do we have the smallest workforce since the Great Depression? You DO realize the creative bookkeeping that goes into unemployment figures, don't you?
The reality is that, adjusted for inflation, people make less today than they did 10 years ago. They have, in other words, less disposable income. The real unemployment rate is about twice what the government figures suggest, and black unemployment has doubled under the Obama Administration. I have not been able to obtain 2014 stats yet, but in 2013, a little over 75% of the "jobs created" were PART-TIME. Most of the jobswere of the "want fries with that?" variety. Some recovery. I am glad you and your employees are doing well.
