It seems to me that they got their reparations when Lincoln freed the slaves. 40 acres and a mule. It was up to them to make that work out. They probably sold the mule and the 40 acres, then went to town and got drunk.

One thing that is never mentioned in history, (that I'm aware of) is how many of them took advantage of getting 40 acres and a mule and what those that did, what they did with that which they got.

What about the Irish and Indians? Why are the Africans singled out?
I say the past is past I was never a slave owner and I doubt any one now was ever a slave. So drop it and get on with your life. Maybe give them free tuition in the collage of their choice. That should be enough of a hand out to anyone trying to improve their situation.
