No, not at all...the DOJ would like to have it on video so that the people of this country can see it with their own eyes, versus trump and FOX would prefer to be able to spin their version of what went on as trump gets slapped around.
This court has a history of not allowing cameras, to allow them this time would be a departure that could be seen as a partisan move to break with long standing tradition...
...so no, this was this judge following the law and their precedent...nothing more than good court protocol.

NY state law does not allow caneras in courts. The judge can't change it. Personally this case may be X rated and I do not wish to hear alll the gory details.

pegw was actually right about something. New York does not allow cameras in state courtrooms, and they have not been allowed in Federal Courts for decades.

The intent of video cameras was so that the American people could see exactly what goes on versus the trump spin that FOX runs with...the rhetoric and lies repeated over and over before the reality comes out becoming the truth for the hard right...never to be adjusted for reality.

I have noticed a peculiar thing. Before Donald J. Trump was indicted you leftists were all for him being dragged before the judge in handcuffs, chains, and shackles and having hundreds of cameras filming it. Now that he is indicted for this " horrible crime ", you guys seem to be backing off a little.
