If they did, they would want people, who use a firearm in commission of a crime to get the strictest punishment legally possible. Conservatives have known forever that democrats don't care about crime and victims. It's about nothing more than banning the 2nd Amendment. Since we all know bad guys will always find a gun if they want one we should attack the problem using much harsher sentences for those who commit a crime with a firearm.

I totally agree and I am a liberal. We do need strong penalties for crimes committed with a firearm. I don't want the 2nd Amendment scrapped.

the problem is in enforcement and prosecution.
Since Creepy Joe was led into the WH by the zipper on his fly, violent crimes have skyrocketed in blue cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, et al, and coupled with the "Defund Police" movement, enforcement and prosecution have drastically fallen. Plus liberal activist judges are making matters worse.
For example, Hundreds of BLM rioters, looters and vandals were arrested and released without charges despite destruction from violent protests.
