While the world was riveted by the latest Malaysian Airlines tragedy, Obama and Putin spoke. According to Reuters, Obama warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday that the United States and its allies are prepared to impose additional sanctions on Moscow if it does not change course in Ukraine.

More:

The blunt warning came during a phone call on Thursday.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest, briefing reporters on Obama's Air Force One flight from Washington to Delaware, said Obama was briefed by his advisers on the crash and directed top U.S. officials to remain in close contact with Ukrainian officials.

Earnest said the Obama-Putin phone call was made at the request of Moscow a day after the United States and European countries imposed new sanctions on Russia over its aggression against Ukraine.

Obama told Putin "additional steps are on the table if Russia doesn't change course," Earnest said.

Then the flipside, from Bloomberg:

•PUTIN TELLS OBAMA HE'S SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED AT SANCTIONS
And yes, the crash was discussed:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation told U.S. President Barack Obama that a Malaysian airplane crashed on Ukrainian territory, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

The two leaders held a pre-planned call on the situation in Ukraine during which information became available from air traffic controllers about the crash."

Expect many more such conversations, which will hardly be cordial, and a serious escalation in relations, now that there is a smoking gun provocation, which many are already equating with the modern version of the "Franz Ferdinand" moment.

ok I'm back, wait, wasn't the Malaysian flight more than a month ago? now they are seeing it in UKRAINE? now dow jones drops -161.39 (-0.94%).
I don't know if its the same Malaysian airlines flight but if it is the this is an obvious set up, I think it could have been the WH baiting Russia to shoot it down, and it happened to crash in Ukraine, a place of high political tension.
I am not saying this sets a dow crash in motion but I need more info before I say anymore. :!: :!: :?

possibly, wouldn't it have pinged? we still don't know who shot it down when they most likely knew immediately. holding it from the public obviously, if the dow jones flop is related, probably I don't know why.
why a Malaysian flight went over ukraine in that route, I have no idea, but I am going to look into this later today.

It sounds to me like Obama is determined to start a war with Russia no matter what. And this after killing our military. It sort of sounds like he doesn't want us to win another war, or even stand a chance. Either that, or he wants to start shooting nukes back and forth. Whatever it is, Obama is out of him mind..........

it sounds like you need more information and solid evidence before you say something like that, I dislike Obama as much as the next guy, but until we can get solid background info as to why and how the plane crashed and why markets are reacting the way they are, all we can do is sit back and watch. I might open a thread once I have more info.

It does and if you recall Romney called Russia our greatest geopolitical foe in debates. Obama mocked him by saying Gov. Romney is living in the 60s and thinks this is the Cold War"

Looks like Mitt was right

All they have left is force since no one is really backing them on their lame sanctionsbut are all ditching the USD They stepped up the rollout of the BRICS bank by 2 years with their first sanction. They have only desperation and false flags to keep the 1% of the 1%ers global hegemony dream alive.
