No, but the commission of a new translation of the bible for a political event would have a bearing on Christianity, wouldn't it? First off, the good King trusted in the "expertise" at the time and whether they were objective or subjective is the question that comes to bear...do did they pander to what they hoped the good King would want them to write? There are all sorts of things that play into the bias of how we write and whether it reflects what's true or whether it's nothing but BS and deserves to be thrown in the trash.

Look, I'm an atheist, so what you people choose to worship makes no difference to me. But if you think the new testament is a book free of bias--political or otherwise--you are full of crap because, from day one, it is a book constructed out of the bias of the time. This would include the very first version that was cobbled together with the bias that said we will include this book but exclude that book all the way up to the King James version we will include this way of thinking and exclude that way of thinking. After all, it is a book that is trying to get us to think and behave a particular way.

The question is, do you trust or have faith in the bias that put your particular version of the book together? If you do that's all that matters and what someone else thinks makes no difference at all. Now if you want to revert to name calling perhaps you should reread your version of the New Testament and show us where name-calling is what Jesus would have done...
