That is FALSE. FOX News does NOT have an "entertainment" license...nor is it listed as an "entertainment channel".

The Federal Communications Commission, which regulates communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. An FCC spokesperson says they don’t "have any rules or licensing requirements in which a cable channel might categorize itself as 'news' vs. 'entertainment'."

In 2013 A website called "Free Wood Post" published a fake story that claimed the FCC reclassified Fox News as "satire" and that the network would have to start displaying a disclaimer during its segments that read: "This is not a valid news source."

But Free Wood Post was a satirical blog itself, with its own disclaimer that said all news articles on the website "are fiction, and presumably fake news."

Fox News could not and did not change its "accreditation" to entertainment.

You don't have to believe me, look it up yourself.

If they do anything to FOX, then they definitely should do something about the lies on CNN and MSNBC. They lie too, pegw...and more than FOX ever has.

I admit that FOX has turned left during the past years since Murdoch gave over partial control to his liberal sons. You should at least be happy about that....maybe some day you will say how much you like FOX because they're lying more?

Its Fox news. The FCC doesn’t have authority over cable networks. This has been stated several times.

Don’t you care that other networks lie too?

Emily,
Roger Ailes sued the Supreme court .
Claiming Fox News was operating under the license of Fox Broadcasting . An entertainment company. With an entertainment license.
Ailes argued he could say whatever he wanted because Fox News was operating under fox broadcasting entertainment license.
Entertainment not news.

[quote=EmilyD]In typical 'Rat style you are trying to twist your lie by posting an article that has nothing to prove your lie.

The "FOX Entertainment Group" and "Fox News" are the TITLES of the company... NOT the type of license they have.

THERE IS NO AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION THAT GRANTS A "NEWS" OR "ENTERTAINMENT" LICENSE.

Those licenses just do not exist...you are making it up that they have an "Entertainment" license.

Posting a long article about nothing to try to cover up your lie is not going to work.

[B]• Cable stations don’t have FCC licenses, only over-the-air broadcast stations do.

• Networks" don’t have FCC licenses, only stations do.

• Station licenses don’t specify "news" or "entertainment". A licensed station can swap from an "entertainment" (music, for instance) format to a "news" format at any time, just as it can switch from a rock music format to a country music format. There’s no change to the license required.

Fox has a broadcasting (not "news" or "entertainment") license for their TV (over-the-air) station only.

Stop lying about this. You've posted this lie SIX times now!!!

Roger Ailes sued the Supreme Court to be allowed to say what he wanted because it was an entertainment channel .
Granted by the corrupted SC .

How could Ailes sue the Supreme Court when it can’t be sued? Going to answer this time?
