’World stands with you’
If the world stands with Ukraine let those countries pay for the war materials and support Ukraine needs to fight off the Russians. Especially Europe.

President Joe Biden visited Ukraine on Monday to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, as America continues to send billions of dollars' worth of aid and equipment to the war-torn nation fighting a Russian invasion.

Biden spent several hours in the Ukrainian capital, meeting with Zelensky at Mariinsky Palace, marking almost one year since Russian forces attempted to take over the city. At times, air-raid sirens sounded in the background.

"One year later, Kyiv stands," Biden said, according to The Associated Press. "And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you."

In Kyiv, Biden also reportedly announced an additional half-billion dollars in U.S. financial assistance, which will also include shells for howitzers, anti-tank missiles, air surveillance radars and other aid but no new advanced weaponry.

"Our negotiations were very fruitful," Zelensky said regarding more aid from the United States.

"I thought it was critical that there not be any doubt, none whatsoever, about U.S. support for Ukraine in the war," Biden explained. "The cost that Ukraine has had to bear has been extraordinarily high. And the sacrifices have been far too great.

"We know that there’ll be very difficult days and weeks and years ahead. But Russia's aim was to wipe Ukraine off the map. Putin's war of conquest is failing."

"He's counting on us not sticking together," Biden continued, referring to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. "He thought he could outlast us. I don't think he's thinking that right now. God knows what he's thinking, but I don't think he's thinking that. But he's just been plain wrong. Plain wrong."

The visit comes as the Republican-led U.S. House investigates Biden's son Hunter for his foreign business deals, which included millions of dollars from a Ukrainian natural gas company that the State Department considered corrupt.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to Biden saying, "Ukraine is grateful to you, Mr. President, to all the U.S. citizens, to all those who cherish freedom just as we cherish them."

Biden had departed from Joint Base Andrews near Washington, D.C. around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, making a stop at Ramstein Air Base in Germany before traveling into Ukraine, The AP reported. He arrived in Kyiv at 8 a.m. Monday.

>>>I agree. Let them pay for Ukraine. Meanwhile more and more of the world is siding with Russia, in this war that America is a major cause of it ever starting in the first place.

I'm not so sure more of the world is siding with Russia. Their military is full of corruption and committing war crimes in mass. Even the Russian People don't support the war but can't say anything lest they suddenly and mysteriously disappear. America wasn't the major cause of starting the war. However, Obama and Biden were a huge factor in making the Russians think they could get away with crossing this line drawn, especially after Biden's screwed-up withdrawal from Afghanistan. Putin grossly miscalculated, but then tyrants usually do because of their ego and quest for power.

Last I heard is now China might start sending Russia arms. Yep, growing support. And a lot of European countries are questioning sending an unending supply of arms to such a corrupt country as Ukraine. The Ukraine militias were famous for war crimes and torture before last years build up of the ongoing war in the Donbas. As anywhere, people are against a war, but reading from the Russian sector reporters, there is a lot more support in Russia for Putin then you realize. Definitely more then we have for biden. And as for America starting this war, they promised Gorbachev in the early 1990s that they wouldn't expand NATO if Russia didn't get in the way of Germany reuniting. Russia didn't get in the way of Germany reuniting and America didn't honor its promise. Part of what makes Russia not want to deal with America in things like START because America broke a very important and basic promise to Russia. So much of this is all about America and Europe and NATO trying to isolate Russia and break them and they finally set a Red Line. And unlike obama, they are sticking to it. Meanwhile biden is sending Ukraine billions of our dollars to defend their borders, while opening ours to invasion. The west is using Ukraine to test their latest weapons and tactics while killing well over 100,000 Ukrainians.

But I do agree with this statement.

Russia also guaranteed Ukraine's sovereignty if they de-nuclearized warheads and weapons. They did, Russia didn't. There is plenty of fault from all around. Putin actually has very little support among the oligarchs and the populace. But he has to save face. And people don't want to mysteriously and suddenly disappear. You can't trust a tyrant who has stated that he wants to reconstitute the USSR, or at least the Russian Empire, as the great power that it once was. We know what that means. He wants Poland and other satellite countries back in the fold and to return to the glory days of Peter and Catherine. He already controls Belarus (they are a puppet regime). As for NATO, Ukraine wasn't originally slated to become a member but is pushing more for it since Russia started saber-rattling. That's why Finland joined. Meanwhile, the corruption in the Russian military is beyond Putin's control. The only thing that will come out of this is more war crimes and atrocities that will continue forever, from both sides. Another Korea or Vietnam maybe. Putin will flatten all of Ukraine to the point no one will want it. Look at what he did to Chechnya. The guy is not stupid and he is strategic, unlike our President. But he grossly miscalculated.
