Let's all offer a prayer for his gentlest of final hours. An inept president, he was, ultimately, a good man despite some vindictiveness.

He was a good man. His family is blessed to have him in their lives this long.

Carter’s legacy is being the weakest president. He became president because Nixon bailed out too easily. Nixon was doing EXACTLY what the democrats were doing and have been doing forever. Same thing Brady did in New England with belicheck!
One change to history though, Carter’s legacy is now 2nd weakest president behind FJB!

His legacy to his family and how they’ll remember him is what they’ll care about. I see no reason to deride him now.

Then why do we talk about Reagan, FDR and other people who are dead?
That’s like praying someone into heaven at the funeral that wasn’t a believer.

I don’t see the point in discussing anything about them as a person.

I would have liked to meet him

I can agree with that, at least, up to a point. His political legacy must still be wide open for discussion.

But then, does that apply to Adolf Hitler, Josip Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, Jeffrey Dahmer, Al Capone,...?

Trump is even a worse embarrassment than Nixon. Nixon was in his 2nd term when he resigned. Trump will never see a second term.
Carter's legacy is all the Humanitarian work that he did after his Presidency

Trump may never see a second term but he was far less of an embarrassment than Obama or this OvalOffice occupant. The Chinese would NEVER tried the balloons that have under Trump, or Bush, Bush and, especially, Reagan or Kennedy.

He did a lot of good for the Habitat Organization. Good Christian man. Didn't have the temperament for the presidency

His political legacy yes. But denigrating someone’s character because you didn’t like their politics, no.

Denigrating mass murderers is different.
