Of course... They were much better developed... Same with the plots...

We managed to get through the first season... But it was hard at times...

Me, too. The first time I experienced the Tolkin's magic was when my Mom read the Hobbit and LOTRs books to us. I think I was eleven. I've read the series three times since then, and love the movies.

Lord of the Rings is Not my favorite Fantasy series. Now Game of Thrones is . However the 90yo old living off the grid in his handmade hobbit house is awesome. I am Also A HUGE Trekker(Not Trekkie...I Have A Life) and thoroughly believe in the dream of Gene Roddenberry's Federation, One Earth government and allies of other worlds perhaps one day. A One world government not the apocalypse of armageddon mentioned in the bible. Oh yeah I also spend most weekends with other nerds (A lot of them Arch and Staunch Republicans) Re-enacting the Middle Ages and Renaissance complete w/ costumes, armor,(steel,leather,etc) swords of wood and shields of Aircraft aluminum. Most the Republicans in the organization with me are Vikings.
