Im not a fan of DeSantis being on the national stage. I’d prefer he stay in Florida and continue his work there. I’m definitely not in agreement with the “progressive movement”. I believe in strict adherence to the Constitution as written and originally intended, limited government, abolishing the Federal Reserve, resigning from the United Nations and removing them from our soil, a balanced budget, a strong and ready military, limited foreign aid (clean up our own mess first), energy independence, POTUS line item veto, equal opportunity for all (not to be confused with equity for all), eliminating our current convoluted tax structure and implementing a minimal flat tax (paid by everyone), limit campaign funds to an equal amount for each candidate, voter ID and vote in person (except in cases of physical disability), a true closed border and deportation of non citizens here illegally, no legal immigration until the illegal migrants are removed, strict adherence to the rule of law, and even more so, strict adherence to the maximum punishment allowed by law, school choice, etc. I’m sure you get my drift. There’s far too much corruption throughout the federal government for any of that to happen without a complete revolt by the people. The chance of that is zero considering the wide spread apathy by most.

Thankyou for answering. We seem to have quite a lot in common. Not everything I see the UN as a good idea. We agree on Voter ID (I do that now and have no problem with it.) flat tax for all, equal opp for all, POTUS Line Veto, limit of campaign funds, A strong military I believe we have already. We may indeed need to close the border for a while. I do differ in that there are illegals here that have been here for decades and have raised families as Americans (Several are my friends)they should not be deported. School choice but also a stronger public school system where teachers are supported by local government. (I taught social studies in public schools for 25yrs) Adherence to all laws. I support separation of church and state as written in the 1st amendment, While not a gun owner I believe in the 2nd amendment just not the power of the NRA Lobby to encourage just their agenda. There is room for some safety measures. I believe the Founders got it right with the Constitution as written. Yes the federal gov't is corrupt in a lot of cases. However is the answer stronger state gov't? States Rights have led to problems thru out our history. I was just curious to hear the ideas of NON MAGA Republicans as to who the rising stars are for the 2024 election. I might consider a return to the GOP if the right person came along. There are some ideas introduced by progressives that have been good for us going back to Teddy Roosevelt, then FDR, JFK and LBJ.
