Well here we are, debt ceiling hostage time...only the freedom caucus doesn't even have a clue what to demand, how deep to go, how much to make it hurt.

They are going to throw out a willy nilly mess of "serious" cuts to entitlements they know will not be met, looking for some degree of willingness to "negotiate" by dems (which they will not do).

The debt ceiling is about one issue and one issue only, the accrual of the debts that were run up by congreessional spending. If they want to reduce the debt it will take aggressive tax increases that put taxes for the wealthy where they should be, and aggressive IRS enforcement of tax fraud and cheating by the wealthy that are being allowed to get away with not paying the taxes they owe.
