If we lose cash and gun shows and private sales, we lose our freedom
CBDCs are coming. If you don't know what they are then you need to check them out. The government will be able to stop anyone from purchasing a gun or anything else they don't want you to have.

What the demoncrats did was create an illegal firearms registry by enacting codes for firearms and ammo sales. These codes can be used at regular sporting goods stores that sell a variety of items as well as rifles and ammo. How is this legal?

Here's what the dems did to track gun and ammunition sales. A backdoor to a firearms registry. Illegal.

Weak-minded response: Cannot refute the content so attacks the source.

She doesn't know how to spell "check", either. Almost every single time she posts and uses the word, she spells it "cheak"....not once or twice, but many times after several people have pointed it out.

She 'fact-cheaks' everything except her own spelling!

Peg and other normal people mostly agree that this is a good idea.. tracking ammo and gun sales give one more opportunity to halt the killer before the deed is done.. follow this link and see the possibility of stopping the killing he did..

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/credit-card-sales-of-guns-and-ammo-merchant-codes/

Credit card industry representatives have cleared the way for a new means of tracking firearm and ammunition purchases, a move that supporters say will help flag suspicious sales and reduce gun crime.

The International Standards Organization, which sets rules across the financial services industry, agreed to create a new merchant category code for gun and ammunition retailers at a meeting this week, and announced the decision Friday. The decision came amid mounting pressure on credit card companies by Democrats in Congress who urged the code's creation.

Merchant category codes are made up of four digits and are used across all sorts of industries as a means to classify retailers, while not revealing individual product purchases. Credit card companies currently lump firearm retailers in with other outlets, classifying them as either "5999: Miscellaneous retail stores" or "5941: Sporting Goods Stores."

With a new code for firearms merchants, potentially suspicious purchasing patterns could be flagged to law enforcement — much the same way banks and credit unions made more than 1.4 million suspicious activity reports in 2021 for other types of transactions that might suggest anything from identity theft to terrorist financing.

Supporters believe the code could be a useful tool to help law enforcement identify bad actors, pointing to a number of notorious mass shootings that were financed with credit cards.

The shooter who terrorized a Colorado movie theater in 2012 charged more than $9,000 worth of guns, ammunition and tactical gear in the two months leading up to his attack, which killed 12 people and injured 70. The man who shot up the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, killing 49 people, put more than $26,000 on credit cards on firearms and ammunition. And the shooter who killed 59 at a music festival in Las Vegas in 2017 charged almost $95,000 on dozens of guns.

Mastercard, American Express and Visa initially resisted the creation of a merchant category code for gun and ammunition retailers according to an investigation by CBS News in June.

Just the type of nonsense one would expect from an anti-freedom ignoramus such as you.

You would feel very comfortable in PRC or Cuba; then you would be with other people like you that hate America.

Thugs and criminals don't normally use credit cards to purchase guns and ammunition, nor do they purchase them from gun stores. They pay cash for untraceable weapons, trade for drugs or steal them. We will never be able to determine who will become a mass murderer by a gun registry and those localities that don't enforce their gun laws should have an equal responsibility when a gun is sold to a person with a prior conviction and commits murder. Perhaps there should be a database of people with priors that gun shop owners can check against that would enable red flag laws to work.

Then why is the IRS going to start investigating transactions of a few hundred dollars? This will never be confined to large purchases. Hell, I've spent $2000 getting set up for reloading several calibers. That's just equipment and components, not firearms or ammo.

I like your idea, but the list would take days to review and would be an outdated list that day, but it would be a start.
