From The American Prospect: “There has been a simmering debate over the past few years as to whether claims of conservative populism mean anything in a practical policy sense. Many have claimed that things have changed from the old days of tax cuts for the rich, business-friendly deregulation, and trickle-down economics — like Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who once wrote, ‘We are a working-class party now. That’s the future.’ We now have an answer to this question, and it is firmly negative. If they win in 2022, Republicans are promising the same old massive cuts to social programs, above all Social Security and Medicare, which they’ve been trying to get at for decades. And they’re going to try to force President Biden to agree by threatening a global financial apocalypse.”

On the U.S. National Debt Clock (real time), scroll down to the bottom line on the right and take a look at the counters for Social Security Liability and Medicare Liability.

Social Security Liability is now at $22 trillion and climbing, and
Medicare Liability is at $34 trillion and climbing.

This is unsustainable, both programs need some serious funding reforms.
The most promising solution is to get them the hell out of federal government hands.

You are not wrong. Democrats stand up for the poor and for social issues that benefit the poor and those who are average citizens. Hence they get called "Socialists ". Republicans are for the wealthy and the large corporations . " Has a poor man ever gave you a job " sound familiar ?

You fricking Marxist Democrats are despicable. Lies, Lies, and more lies.

The Republicans have become the true liberals, who are promoting the interest of the Plebs, while the so-called liberal Democrat elites are the party of intolerance and the wealthy progressive tech billionaires. You missed the switch in the 1960s when conservative republicans stood up for minorities and individualism while the democrats continued to push Jim Crow, segregation, bigotry, etc. In the past two or three decades, wealthy tech entrepreneurs have switched to the leftism of the Democrat Party and its divisiveness. The Republicans now represent the average working American.

The big divide that people keep talking about exists and it’s between liberty and tyranny; between law and order and we are on the right side of history. Just like the Democrat party hates the Constitution and the founding of the country they hate liberty and embrace chaos to promote their ‘progressive’ agenda. With ‘progressivism’ being the bastard child of Marxism, it promotes the notion that the economy exists for the benefit of the government which exists to support the ruling class.

Simple Fix .
Giving away the money already in the bank is not a valid answer .
Raise the ceiling at which the fortunate stop contributing out of their paychecks.
The cut off point, last I knew was $120,000.
But that was 30 or 40 years ago.
So , once you make $120,000 , payments are no longer deducted.
Some people , hit this ceiling in February.
And none is collected for the rest of the year. Raise the cut off point.
Problem solved.
This would be a much better choice than scrapping the program and giving the Trillions already in the bank to
Morbidly Rich People.
No ?
I mean , they actually did not work for Any of that money as you and I did , for our entire lives .
Now , you tell me you’re in favor of being robbed again,
By morbidly rich people Again.
This appears to be a losing battle for left ,
to always be fighting against our own , who if they were smarter they would not be giving away their hard earned money
To rich people who never worked a day in their lives.
Wakey ! wakey !
It’s your country , not theirs.
Stand up !
For your rights !
Stop calling Bernie a Commie and listen to what he has to say .
The people you keep defending believe Bernie And Liz Warren are the 2 Biggest threats they could ever Face .
Katie Porter is another Right up there too,
And yes , they are threats ,
But Not To Youz.
Wake the F up !
I think you’re on the right track ,
But , on the wrong train.
