You are spot on about that. She's got enough sense to realize that being tied in any way to the current administration might doom her future plans, so she's "coming out". But do not think for a moment that she shares ideology with conservatives. She's WEF! She'll play her cards carefully while trying to navigate the time until 2024, or maybe hold off until 2028. She's got time on her side. I thank her for her service, and maybe for putting the smackdown on Kamala during the 2020 debates, but that's it...

Right you are. Her policy choices are for the most part as left-wing as they come. She has not disavowed them

Yes, she has, on quite a number of appearances.

As I was looking through things over the weekend I noted that Tulsi disavows any relationship with the WEF (and the Council on Foreign Relations)
https://netroots.substack.com/p/tulsi-gabbard-disavows-wef-and-cfr
and it does appear that the WEF has removed her info from their website - BUT. It wasn't just those associations that caused me to see red flags about her attempts to become palatable to us. There's much more to it than that. Like her voting for impeachment, and her attitude toward the Green New Deal. It remains to be seen how many folks will get on her bandwagon and what effect, if any, this has on the midterms. If you held a gun to my head, I'd guess that some Dems may either not vote or vote R because of her machinations...(yawn)

Tulsi Gabbard: Why I'm leaving the Democrat Party
Tulsi Gabbard

I love our country. Our God-given rights of freedom, life, and liberty enshrined in our Constitution and Bill of Rights are my inspiration. I answered the call to duty and took an oath, dedicating my life to supporting and defending those freedoms, both in uniform and in public office. . . . . . .

Today’s Democratic Party does not believe in our constitutionally protected right to bear arms. Our founders passed the Second Amendment out of a recognition that every one of us has a right to defend ourselves and our loved ones, and to serve as a check on a tyrannical government seeking to take away our God-given freedoms. The Democratic Party’s hatred of the Second Amendment and their increasing authoritarian instincts pose a serious threat to our freedoms. "Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” Beto O'Rourke said at a debate when he was running for president. Our founders intentionally passed the Second Amendment right after the First Amendment. The majority ruling from the recent Supreme Court ruling striking down New York’s law that barred people from concealed carry firearms summarized very clearly why Democrats are wrong to try to take away our rights:

“Just as we do not need to seek a permit to stand on the street corner and exercise our right to free speech, we shouldn’t have to seek permission for a law abiding citizen to carry their firearm. We as a society don’t get to pick and choose which of our rights in the constitution are more worthy of protecting than another.”

Protecting our freedom to defend ourselves and those we love, and protecting our rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution against a tyrannical power is exactly why we must ensure our right to bear arms “shall not be infringed.”

LOL...Friend, I never said it was hard to look AT her. Just hard to take her seriously as a true Constitionalist. If her goal is to simply stand apart from the socialists in the Dem party, then mission accomplished.
