There is evidence that points to Republicans embracing White Christian Nationalism which is a threat to American Democracy. It is an ideology that wants to ensure the country does not turn its back on God.
Why is Christianity a threat?
Who or what does it threaten?
We are witnessing and experiencing what happens when a people turn their backs on God,
what do you suppose American life would be like if we didn't?
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.Proverbs 6:16-19
How The Bible Inspired The American Founding From The BeginningDeclarations of Founding Fathers and Early Statesmen on Jesus, Christianity, and the BibleCongress, 1854
The great, vital, and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrines and the divine truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Congress, U. S. House Judiciary Committee, 1854
Had the people, during the Revolution, had a suspicion of any attempt to war against Christianity, that Revolution would have been strangled in its cradle… In this age, there can be no substitute for Christianity… That was the religion of the founders of the republic and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendants.DASHY wrote:
Republicans are willing to set aside democracy itself, ignoring the results of fair elections, to fulfill their interpretations of God's commands.
Point to any passage in the Bible, or any scripture for that matter, in which God commands us to ignore elections.
Where does the Bible say anything about elections?
Explain what you mean by "fair" election.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.Proverbs 14:34

They want to ban abortion based on a religious belief about when life begins.
If an individual life does not begin at conception, when does it begin?
Science is clear: Each new human life begins at fertilizationScience teaches without reservation that life begins at fertilization (conception). It is a scientific fact that an organism exists after fertilization that did not exist before. This new organism has its own DNA distinct from the mother and father, meaning that it is a unique person. When Human Life BeginsAmerican College of Pediatricians – March 2017
ABSTRACT: The predominance of human biological research confirms that human life begins at conception—fertilization. At fertilization, the human being emerges as a whole, genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species Homo sapiens, needing only the proper environment in order to grow and develop. The difference between the individual in its adult stage and in its zygotic stage is one of form, not nature. This statement focuses on the scientific evidence of when an individual human life begins.Princeton University: Life Begins at FertilizationThe following references illustrate the fact that a new human embryo, the starting point for a human life, comes into existence with the formation of the one-celled zygote:DASHY wrote:
They question whether there should be a separation of church and state.
Where did you get that foolish notion?
Jefferson's concept of "separation of church and state" simply means the church will not interfere with the affairs of the state and the state will not interfere with the affairs of the church.
But that isn't what is happening. Gay activists have torpedoed that concept. Their attacks on Christian owned businesses has the full support of the state.
Legislators and lawyers, judges and courts have not only sided with the activists, they have encouraged them.
