Do You Celebrate Halloween And Yet Call Yourself A Christian ?

Let me first make it clear that I DO NOT claim to be Christian .

I do however believe in God and believe that the Holy Bible is the word of God .

I believe that Jesus Christ is the way to salvation.

But Jesus never told anyone to call themselves a Christian and there is absolutely no scripture, verse or word in the Bible that says you must follow a religion called Christianity.

It is not my intent to disrespect or belittle anyone who does call themselves a Christian.

But for me, the Bible is the law I live by and if it is not written in the scriptures I do not recognize it as anything other than the contrivance of mankind.

The term Christian infers that one who claims this title may be considered Christlike.

I am nowhere near to being Christlike and in fact I must pray for forgiveness every single day for I am indeed a sinner.

Now to the subject at hand.

I've heard every argument known to man that attempts to legitimize the celebration of Halloween.

I've spoken with so called Christians who have provided countless excuses and historical blather to try and convince me that Halloween is worthy of celebration.

So I hope no one tries to further educate me on the subject because I've done a considerable amount of homework on this topic.

I've also spoken with a few individuals who happen to worship Satan and even they laugh at and are dumbfounded by the idea of Christians who celebrate Halloween.

I suspect that if you are a member of a church that celebrates Halloween, your entire congregation and especially your pastor are surely on the proverbial highway to hell.

When you dress your child up in a Halloween costume for the purpose of celebrating this holiday, you are impressing upon that innocent child the very damnation that you yourself have incurred upon yourself.

Nowhere in the Bible will you find a command to celebrate any of the popular holidays.

And any self described Christian who celebrates Halloween is in fact more succinctly described as an antichrist.

So go ahead celebrate.

But when your time comes to stand in judgement, prepare yourselves for the consequences

I will answer with "I claim to be a Christian " The exact word may not be in the Bible , but neither is the word "American" , yet I also claim to be one of those , also . Christian denotes one who follows or believes in Christ
Christianity is NOT a religion , it is "Trust in Christ " , Jesus showed his displeasure with "religious people "
Halloween is a holiday of demons and I do not keep this day . There are many who teach , preach and condone activities ( error ) that are non-biblical , in their church. I dont care to open that can of worms on this forum , but I will add this .... Any church that has to preach or teach around some of the Bible because it disproves what they think are just fooling themselves and may be guilty of blasphemy , especially if they make a statement such as God made me do it , when His word CLEARLY states NOT to do it

It's called " The way" in the New Testament. ( the book of Acts)
Run the race, Paul says. Follow me as I follow Christ.
Buddhists follow the way of Buddha.
Muslims follow the way of Muhammad.
Christians follow the way of Christ.
The word Christian isn't in the KJV , they were just called followers of the Way, along with words like disciple.
Halloween is a Pagan/ Satanic celebration that's been watered-down to a marketing device to sell absolute JUNK.
Most Americans are clueless to it's roots.

Anyone that watches "The walking dead"..[ otherwise known as "the View" }....is a total waste of time, & intelligence!

"HALLOWEEN, ET AL"...{ SPOOKS AND SUCH } :o}}}

The Bible is a "complete hand book" to the human quest for answers of creation, & the reason for same!

Call your "religion" what you may....it's all about God, & son of God...relating to eternal life!

I think you're being just a tad bit too serious here. I went trick or treating on Halloween as a kid with never a thought about religion, it was all about the free candy. By the time I was twelve that was all over as I had better thing to do. Now I have seen 'adults' who dress up and party for Halloween but again, it was about the party and not religion. As for me I shy away from parties and any holidays in general since they seem to be merely an excuse to get drunk and stupid. I doubt that the vast majority of those who celebrate Halloween have to worry about the final judgement. As for me, I sure hope that GOD has a great sense of humor.

Wolf, your accusatory and judgmental language suggests you’re part of the JW cult. I’m sure you mean well, but you seem to have no knowledge of the word “grace”.

You are not a Christian, but you are judging Christians. You believe in Christ, but you are not a Christian.

I grew up trick or treating. I was also raised Christian. I do not have a problem with Halloween. I see this as merely another Leftist attack on an American Tradition. Leftists always do that. They seek to tear down all traditions. They seek to drive wedges between Christians and other Americans. They can't help themselves because they HATE America.

This time it's Halloween. Next time it will be Easter, Christmas, or May 3, National Paranormal Day. However, when our little Leftist brothers and sisters get around to attacking June 6, National Splurge Day, when you can buy yourself an extra luxury, I will be extremely put out.

Halloween falls on a Wiccan sabbat called Samhain. Wiccans celebrate Samhain by paying respect to nature, honoring the dead, holding bonfires, and communicating with spirits. They may engage in modern Halloween activities, many of which resemble ancient Samhain customs like carving Jack’O’Lanterns.
