Second: IMHO. You're advocating for a socialistic view point. I believe most of this nonsense could all be avoided if individuals would just take some personal accountability for their choices. If the Sharptons & Jacksons would just shut the hell up, and stop promoting divisiveness, which is only holding the black race at a standstill, and not allowing for progress, the country, in this respect may just have a chance at moving forward. The working class is, or more accurately has been, fed up with this for a while now, and that is having to support the non-working class. Omitting the percentage that truley can not work for whatever reason, it's the class of people who make the conscious choice not to work, that is the problem, all skin colors are guilty of this to some degree, some more than others. These freeloaders are breaking the backs of those who are supporting them, and it needs to stop! The current administration is not doing a damn thing to curb this problem, and it would not be a stretch at all to say that they are promoting this atmosphere.
Slavery is no more, and the call for reperations should have been heading in the same direction, but it's not, enough is enough is enough. This country is not called, Africa America, Mex America, or Asia America, this is the United States of America, and it's citizenry are called Americans(notice no prefix). It is written on Lady Liberty, "give us your tired, your hungry, your poor;" etc. not your lazy, unwilling, or weak minded. The law of the land provides an opportunity for everyone to become functioning, contributing members of society, all one has to do is make that conscious decision.
Mr. Vet, first, thank you for your service. br br... (show quote)

I agree with you wholeheartedly on almost everything you said except the slavery part. Slaves and slavery still exist and they are called taxpayers. Those that are actually paying taxes (the funds being taken exceed the funds being issued as tax refunds) are the new slave class. Just like slavery it isn't voluntary and is done under the threat of punishment. We are the slaves supporting the liberal freeloaders who live like parasites draining us dry.

Other than that lil part, you are quite correct.

All one has to do is open their eyes and ears to recognize that there are racists of every skin pigmentation. Of course it also requires that one is capable of being honest with themselves.

I've met far more non white racists than I have white racists.

You're probably only counting those that have offended you racially and if you are white, then the only people who can do that are non-whites.

For some reason, I don't get a lot of racial insults. Probably because I'm too cool ;) So my experience with racism tends to come from casual conversations where people feel safe enough open up about their racial thoughts, which of course is more apt to happen between people of the same race and since I'm white it follows that I "see" more racism among whites.

I do remember my wife and I being called in to my first grade daughter's school to meet with the principal and parents of one of her friends. My daughter apparently called the little girl a chocolate drop. I knew my daughter well enough to know she didn't mean anything by it and I got pretty annoyed. At some point I just looked at the parents and said "You have got to be kidding me... 6 year old little girl... "chocolate drop". Think about it."

Anyway, I agree with both your points 100%. There ARE racists of every color and it's more apparent with people who are honest with themselves. Ironically, there's nothing racist about racism itself - it applies to all races as a human trait.

Actually part of the reason why I am the way I am is because a large percentage of my mothers familly are hard core racists. The kind that stirred up all of the trouble back in Germany a couple wars back(if you catch my drift).

My mother during one of her rebelious moods decided to piss them off and had sex with a black guy, with the result being her getting pregnant with my older sister. Her family exerted a considerable amount of pressure on her and forced her to give my sister up for adoption. I refude to forgive any of them for that and to a large part that is why I severely distanced myself from all of them.

So yes I am quite familiar with white racists but I can still honestly say that in all of my years travelling in and out of the service, I have still met more non white racists than white ones. Racists and bigots of all colors don't tend to hide their distaste and hatred very well. It is against their nature to conceal their racist or bigoted tendencies.

To straightUp...

"Racism" isn't always "racism". It may only be in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps what one perceives as racism may only be a clash of personalities. There are some people with whom I disagree, sometimes vociferously. Would that mean I am a racist toward other Caucasians? I may not like some people of other races due to their mode of dress, the way they comb their hair, or for a myriad of reasons or no reason at all. I don't think that makes one a racist. I can't think of the psychological terminology for it so I just call it selective choice of friends and acquaintances. No racism involved. I don't use the overworked phrase of; "some of my best friends are..." and you can fill in the race.
I will say, however, that my adopted daughter and two of my grandchildren plus one great grandchild are Mexican. Does that make me a braggart or a supplicant seeking ablution for being a "closet racist"?
