There were two reasons given in the affidavit for the search.
1. A Breitbart news story.
2. Moving trucks spotted entering Mar-A-Lago in early January [when Trump was moving out of the White House to Mar-A-Lago].

There was one reason given to the media. That Trump should have turned the classified documents over to NARA [where they could be shared with the public].

There is nothing in the list of documents seized of official government correspondence with Kim Jong Un. And here is a list the DOJ classified which Trump declassified and FBI wanted reclassified and returned which he both had at Mar-A-Lago and released to the public in Feb 2021. Note that the DOJ even classified news stories which were unflattering to the swamp creatures. Most of these are a threat to corrupt high gov officials. Some are of things classified so long ago there is no reason to keep them hidden, if there ever was a good reason in the first place.
