People use words to describe a situation. The Justice Department makes the decision about the proper criminal charges. Many laws were broken on January 6. Roughly 165 of the 800+ cases brought so far as a result of the Jan 6 coup attempt have been fully adjudicated, with 65 receiving jail or prison terms. A federal charge of insurrection is rare and has almost never been made in American history. It seems a bit unpatriotic to claim the crimes that were committed on Jan 6 are OK with you as long as the crime of "insurrection" is not one of them.

Careful there Dash, I’d hate to see you fall into the group that labels a large group of people based upon the actions of a few. Sounds like we agree, it wasn’t an insurrection. Was it wrong? Absolutely. Should the violators be tried and if convicted pay for their crime? Absolutely. All within the confines of the law. The Sixth Amendment guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you. Some of the accused rights have been violated.

We agree the crime of "insurrection" has not been charged against any individual who was involved in the Jan 6 riot. It probably never will be. The Justice Department should investigate claims that civil rights of the accused were violated.

Only because it wasn’t an insurrection by definition. Therefore insurrection should not be used to describe the events of that day. It’s misleading and deceitful to do so. The DOJ should but won’t.

DOJ has determined events of Jan 6 do not meet the criminal code of justice definition of insurrection. People should stop using that descriptive word.

I still think someone who responds to a post, where someone else is sad and missing her deceased husband, with their TDS comment about Trump is a troll. If that isn't an attempt to stir up trouble on a forum, I don't know what is.

Let me guess, you haven't watched all of those Republicans testify with facts, under oath, about the advanced planning for 1/6/21.
It's so hard to actually face facts and have to consider what really happened, isn't it?

You have absolutely no idea what DOJ has considered or determined.
Please, stop pretending that you have knowledge that nobody has.

I’m not aware of the post you’re referencing.
