This country has a long history of racism and we are still saddled with many residual effects of that racism and to deny it is dumb, and to say that whites are treated as second class citizens is even dumber

Mr. Vet, first, thank you for your service.

Second: IMHO. You're advocating for a socialistic view point. I believe most of this nonsense could all be avoided if individuals would just take some personal accountability for their choices. If the Sharptons & Jacksons would just shut the hell up, and stop promoting divisiveness, which is only holding the black race at a standstill, and not allowing for progress, the country, in this respect may just have a chance at moving forward. The working class is, or more accurately has been, fed up with this for a while now, and that is having to support the non-working class. Omitting the percentage that truley can not work for whatever reason, it's the class of people who make the conscious choice not to work, that is the problem, all skin colors are guilty of this to some degree, some more than others. These freeloaders are breaking the backs of those who are supporting them, and it needs to stop! The current administration is not doing a damn thing to curb this problem, and it would not be a stretch at all to say that they are promoting this atmosphere.
Slavery is no more, and the call for reperations should have been heading in the same direction, but it's not, enough is enough is enough. This country is not called, Africa America, Mex America, or Asia America, this is the United States of America, and it's citizenry are called Americans(notice no prefix). It is written on Lady Liberty, "give us your tired, your hungry, your poor;" etc. not your lazy, unwilling, or weak minded. The law of the land provides an opportunity for everyone to become functioning, contributing members of society, all one has to do is make that conscious decision.

Say Old Gringo,

I literally despise the connotation African American, Spanish American, English American, Irish American, or any other kind of American, to describe ones place here in this country. Unless of course, you were in fact born in another country. Other than that all I see is American.

As a mater of fact, if Being just a plane old American is
not good enough for anyone. Then I suggest they get the hell out of hear and go to another country they think is any better.

I think you may have mis-perceived my answer to AuntiE. We were both saying how we abhorred being queried as to our race on government applications. If you would read several postings prior I think you would understand. I agree with you, I do not like hyphenated Americans either.

I've been doing that for as long as I can remember. I am expecting that soon every option including gender will have an "other" option box.

I am color blind and apethetic when it comes to most people. I really don't give a flying rats arse and I will treat everyone equally until they give me reason to do otherwise. Such as the trolls that find it entertaining to try to upset people. They may not be dirrectly attacking me but the "guardian" aspect of my nature makes me feel the need to get involved. I was the one in highschool that stepped in between the bullies and the kids they were picking on. I became a cop because I wanted to help people and I got out when it became blindingly apparent that helping people was no longer in the job description. I give everyone a chance. Whether they decide to take the chance to be a civil polite person or a rude abusive jerk, they had their chance and they are going to have to live with the reactions.

I knew I liked you. I think we are cut from the same cloth. I think AuntiE may even agree, she is familiar with my history.

Whites are racists because everyone except whites has a negative experience with one. Nationalistically speaking we who are genuinely U.S. citizens born here, raised here, became a citizen here(nationalized) with or without their parents who are or are not currently citizens but will be nationalized as soon as Washington D.C. gets its act together on the simplest way to solve the problem without regard to longevity or standing line or selfish personal reasons or put down reasons for all who come to our shores for the right reason to pursue freedom and liberty for themselves and others they know and wish to know. We could, if we wanted to start calling ourselves 'United Statesens' or Statesmen or women if politically inclined by office or occupation both state, federal, and local. And let those from other countries be identified by their country until they decide to legally become 'UNITED STATESENS'

I beg to differ with you. I have known a number of Whites with whom I have had "negative experiences". That also holds true with other nationalities. Being White does not mean one is a racist. Don't indict a whole race because you may have had a bad "experience". From the tone of your diatribe I would suspect you are racist toward Whites. I would suggest you do a little introspection as to your motives in this regard.

I would presuppose that you are displeased because the Government hasn't issued a blanket amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens who have come here.

We welcome millions of immigrants to our country expecting them to conduct themselves as any citizen that was fortunate enough to be born here. We are of one culture, derived of many diverse cultures. However we desire they become assimilated into our culture, speaking English as it is the national language. We do not expect those speaking a different language to not speak it when at home or with friends and acquaintances.

You say you want people to come here for "freedom and liberty". That is what we all strive for. But, we don't want our freedoms and liberty jeopardized by the influx of millions of illegals. What is wrong with applying and awaiting ones turn as untold millions have done in the past? It isn't fair to those who follow the rules by giving amnesty to those who chose to break the rules and demand they be given preference over non rule breakers.

For your clarification , 'UNITED STATESENS' would be "United States Citizens". I point this out not as a condemnation, but rather as a correction.

I would hope you are successful in your endeavors to become a Citizen in our Country if you haven't already become "naturalized". I wish you success in all your endeavors.

I would also hope you will discover that all Whites are definitely NOT racist. Racism is not confined to one race or nationality. All races and nationalities are guilty of it to a degree. Because one may not like a person does not make them a racist. It is a personality clash in all likelihood.

There is more I could say to enlighten you about America but I feel I have taken up too much time for now.
